Dynasty Superflex Startup Mock: Drafting From The 1.03

I recently had the pleasure of joining Paul Patterson (@fantasyfreezer) in a dynasty startup mock draft in preparation for new leagues this offseason. The draft order was appointed by each user rather than randomized. Usually, I prefer to draft in the 1.10-1.12 range and stack two top-tier dynasty assets on the short turn. Choosing to select from the 1.03, I deliberately put myself in a position of unfamiliarity to understand the draft board with a different view. Here’s what I found out.

2022 DFF Superflex Rookie Mock Draft 1.0

Six members of the DFF Army got together to conduct an early Superflex 2022 Rookie Mock Draft, everyone doubled up on teams to make it reflect a 12-team league and, for fairness of randomly generated draft spot we decided to pick in a snake format, rather than the typical fixed order that rookie drafts are conducted in. I will also provide some insights on the picks based on my personal analysis.

February DFF Devy Mock Draft: Round 1

We composed a four-person mock draft at DFF to start collecting devy rank data. For some people, a devy-only draft will be coming up soon, while for others the only draft of the season will be a blended rookie and devy draft after the NFL Draft takes place. We will go over how to value devy players versus rookie players later in this offseason, but for now, let’s dive into the devy debates.

DFF Way Too Early Mock Draft 1.0: First Round

Yes, some of us are still nursing Super Bowl hangovers or regretting watching Tom Brady walk out of the organization he called home for the last two decades, but there are three things we love in Fantasy Football: Start-Up Drafting, Trading & Rookie Drafts. So the team at DFF got on board and jumped the gun on a 2021 way too early Rookie Mock, and the results will surprise you in just how deep this class is on the back of a stellar 2020 class.

DFF Factory Workers’ Dynasty League Rookie Draft

I wasn’t joking when I said I leaned heavily on rookie picks in the DFF Factory Workers’ Dynasty League. I also chose to lean heavily on wide receivers in the rookie draft as I mostly faded them in the start-up. My starting receivers are Allan Robinson, Brandin Cooks, and Marquise Brown. Not a sexy group by any means but Robinson is the real deal and I’ll stand by that. Cooks and Brown are boom/bust type players but Cooks is still just 26 years old in a really good situation as the lead wide receiver for Deshaun Watson in Houston.

Factory Workers’ Dynasty League Rookie Draft

Late Round 2 and it’s another easy decision for me. Bryan Edwards is my WR5 in this class, so I hit the draft button before I could even field offers. Like Reagor, Edwards checks all the boxes for me. On film, his catch radius and strength at 6’3 212 pounds are evident. He regularly wins in contested catch situations, making him “open” even when he isn’t truly open.

NFL Mock Draft: Part 2

We’re back with Part 2 and immediately get some excitement with our first skill player of the mock. CeeDee Lamb goes to the Jets at pick 11. There was some consideration here between a wide receiver and an offensive tackle, but I have a feeling the Jets will be in play when the draft rolls around for Washington Redskins’ Trent Williams.

NFL Mock Draft: Part 1

Today we’re going to have a little fun and do a mock draft for the NFL but with fantasy implications. Trading draft picks is one of the hardest things to predict, so for this initial draft, we’re going to exclude trades for now. Today we’ll look at picks 1-10, who we think each team will take, and the fantasy impact from these signings.
