Week 6 Dynasty Waiver Wire Adds

Welcome into the Week 6 dynasty waiver wire targets! There are some interesting names this week. One speculative add, and a couple of others who could help bolster your receiver room. Take a look and see who you can add to help your dynasty team this week!

Tim Boyle

This is purely a speculative add. As of this writing, D’Andre Swift has thrown more passes this season than Boyle has, but I feel like there may be a storm brewing in Detroit. After the Week 6 game, Dan Campbell didn’t mince words when he said that Goff needs to play better. However, we know what Goff is and so do the Lions. He is a mediocre quarterback on a team with minimal receiving options. I think it will soon be time for the Lions to see what they have in backup quarterback Tim Boyle. Boyle spent his first two seasons backing up Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay and was a preseason darling for the Packers. Boyle was a fan favorite and was seemingly a competent backup.

Now, Boyle finds himself in the same division as Rodgers and in a position where he may be called upon to try to light a spark for the Lions. Boyle is a speculative add in dynasty Superflex leagues where simply having a starting quarterback, or one that might be able to sniff a starting opportunity, is worth having. If Goff continues to struggle next week, we may get a chance to see Tim Boyle time in Detroit.

Jamal Agnew

The Jacksonville Jaguars have started the Trevor Lawrence era as the butt of the joke in the NFL. However, a nice win across the pond gave Lawrence his first NFL win and that may be enough to give them some momentum. Over the last couple of weeks, we have seen a receiver start to emerge and it isn’t who you’d think. Jamal Agnew has caught the eye of Lawrence as a speedy and reliable target recently. Agnew spent his first four seasons with the Detroit Lions primarily returning punts. He remains in that role with the Jaguars but also has been a factor in the receiving game. Agnew has already set career highs in receiving yards and, with two more catches, will have a career-high in receptions as well.

Agnew may not have flex appeal yet, or maybe ever, but he is a potential bye week fill-in for dynasty if you’re desperate. You hope the Jaguars continue to find creative ways to utilize Agnew’s speed in their office after putting up 5 catches for 78 yards against the Dolphins in Week 6. With limited options in dynasty, Agnew projects as a great add this week.

Dante Pettis

I feel icky even writing this article, as dynasty managers are well versed in the rise and fall of Dante Pettis in San Francisco. Pettis was effectively left for dead during and after his stint out west. Now, with the New York Giants, Pettis had one of his better games in recent memory. Pettis was able to put up 5 catches for 48 yards on a 21.5% target share. With the inability of Giants receivers to remain healthy, it is certainly possible that Pettis sees more playing time in negative game script. Pettis is a “close your eyes and add” waiver claim this week. But, in dynasty, you never know who will be resurrected.
