How is it Week 3 already? Hopefully, the season has started out great for your fantasy team(s) thus far. If not, now’s the time to turn things around. It’s getting to be about that time of year when you need to stream a position or two. As always, we will provide the best weekly options to stream at quarterback, tight end, and D/ST. Keep in mind that each streaming option will be below 50% owned, according to ESPN. Below, you will find two streamers per position and a “deep stream” option (15% or lower) as well.
QUARTERBACK
Streamer #1: Trevor Lawrence at Chargers, 49.7% owned
Week | Opponent | Fantasy Points |
1 | at WFT | 14.4 |
2 | vs Colts | 18.5 |
After a shaky rookie season where he finished as the QB22, Trevor Lawrence has put together back-to-back decent performances. He’s coming off a QB12 finish against what we all thought would be a solid Colts defense. In the 24-0 blowout victory, the second-year pro threw for 235 yards and two touchdowns. He now has a solid receiving group, led by Christian Kirk, who has already hauled in 12 receptions for 195 yards and two touchdowns. During the first two weeks of the season, the Chargers have allowed the ninth-most (tied) passing touchdowns in the league. If you are desperate, or in a two-QB league, Lawrence could be a play, but nobody at this position is an easy streaming option this week.
Streamer #2: Marcus Mariota at Seahawks, 9.3% owned
Week | Opponent | Fantasy Points |
1 | vs Saints | 19.8 |
2 | at Rams | 15.4 |
In a vacuum, Marcus Mariota could be a decent streaming option for your team this week. How many free agent quarterbacks give you 50-plus rushing yard upside on a weekly basis? Through two weeks of this season, Mariota is the QB13, and he’s accumulated 88 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Although he hasn’t been connecting with Kyle Pitts much yet (four receptions), the Atlanta signal-caller has compiled 411 yards through the air with two passing touchdowns. Seattle is without Jamal Adams for the remainder of the season, and they’re coming off a Week 2 performance where they allowed Jimmy Garoppolo and Trey Lance to combine for 19.2 fantasy points (11th highest at the QB position in Week 2).
TIGHT END
Streamer #1: Irv Smith Jr. vs Lions, 32.9% owned
Week | Opponent | PPR Points | Half PPR Points | Standard Points |
1 | vs Packers | 0.0 | 0.0 | 0.0 |
2 | at Eagles | 14.6 | 12.1 | 9.6 |
Don’t let the “goose egg” Week 1 performance get to you. Minnesota coaches came out and explained that Smith Jr. would be limited during the first week, as he was getting back to full health and only saw a 31 percent snap count. That number jumped up to 56 percent this past week, as he hauled in five of his eight targets for 36 yards and one touchdown (TE3 in PPR leagues). Given the expectation that he sees more time on the field this week, he’s very much an enticing streaming option. Outside of Mark Andrews, Darren Waller, Travis Kelce, and George Kittle (if healthy), there isn’t a sure starter at tight end on a week-to-week basis at this point (not even Kyle Pitts). Expect a bounce-back game from Kirk Cousins, and expect a decently heavy workload for Big Irv, as Detroit has allowed the 22nd-most fantasy points to tight ends through two weeks.
Streamer #2: Gerald Everett vs Jaguars, 30.7% owned
Week | Opponent | PPR Points | Half PPR Points | Standard Points |
1 | vs Raiders | 14.4 | 12.9 | 11.4 |
2 | at Chiefs | 13.1 | 10.1 | 7.1 |
Gerald Everett has been a STEAL at tight end through two weeks. In most redraft leagues, he went undrafted, and he’s still only rostered in about 31 percent of ESPN leagues right now. If Keenan Allen misses another game, he’s a must-start unless you have one of those top-tier tight ends that were mentioned above. He’s currently the TE4 in PPR leagues, and he leads all Chargers pass-catchers in receiving yards (125). He’s also tied for first on the team in targets (14) with Mike Williams and Austin Ekeler. This Los Angeles team is going to continue to pass the ball a ton, so why not stream the tight end who’s seen a 66 percent snap count through two weeks?
D/ST
Streamer #1: Chargers vs Jaguars, 49.2% owned
Week | Opponent | Fantasy Points |
1 | vs Raiders | 12.0 |
2 | at Chiefs | 1.0 |
There aren’t many great streaming options at the D/ST position this week. But one of the most intriguing options for you is the Chargers facing off against Jacksonville. Although the Jaguars have been much better on the offensive side of the ball to start this season, they haven’t really faced off against a defense of the Chargers’ caliber yet. Their first two games have been against Washington and Indianapolis. With a below-average offensive line, Jacksonville should struggle against Los Angeles’ elite pass rush. Through team weeks, the Chargers have accumulated six sacks. Expect more from where that came from, as Jacksonville has allowed eight already in 2022.
Streamer #2: Eagles at WFT, 20.6% owned
Week | Opponent | Fantasy Points |
1 | at Lions | 5.0 |
2 | vs Vikings | 13.0 |
The Eagles come into Week 3 with the D/ST10. They’ve already accumulated four interceptions, two sacks, and one defensive touchdown. Washington has already given up three interceptions, six sacks, and they’ve coughed the ball up one time as well. In this heated divisional matchup, expect the Eagles’ defense to have their way against this Washington offense that hasn’t faced off against a decent defense through the first two weeks. If the Chargers’ D/ST isn’t available to grab in your fantasy league(s), snag the Eagles in this Carson Wentz “revenge game” this week if you’re streaming the position.
BONUS
Deep Stream: Jared Goff at Vikings, 6.9% owned
Week | Opponent | Fantasy Points |
1 | vs Eagles | 16.5 |
2 | vs WFT | 26.0 |
It may not be the most exciting thing to do, but streaming Jared Goff this week is not a bad idea. If you are thinking about streaming the quarterback position, that means you don’t have Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, Jalen Hurts, Kyler Murray, etc. Although Goff is in this “deep stream” category, he may be the best streaming option available this week. Through two weeks, he’s currently the QB9. He finished last week alone as the QB8, and now he gets to take on a Vikings defense that allowed Hurts to serve as the QB3 in Week 2. It may sound crazy, but Goff should be started over the likes of both Tua Tagovailoa (vs Bills) and Carson Wentz (vs Eagles) even though the two are coming off of top-5 performances a week ago.
