Carson Wentz

Week 2 Streamers

If you started out the season 1-0, let’s continue to keep you undefeated. If you suffered a Week 1 loss, there’s no need to panic; there’s plenty of time to turn things around. In this series, we will provide the best weekly options to stream at quarterback, tight end, and D/ST. Keep in mind that each streaming option will be below 50% owned, according to ESPN. Below, you will find two streamers per position and a “deep stream” option (15% or lower) as well.

QUARTERBACK

Streamer #1:  Justin Fields at Packers, 46.8% owned

 Week  Opponent  Fantasy Points
 1  vs 49ers  17.6

Fields was in this category last week ahead of his Week 1 matchup against the 49ers. But that was before we knew about the torrential downpour that would lead to a sloppy game and a flooded Soldier Field. Although Fields showed spurts of fantasy relevance, his performance wasn’t outstanding, and he even admitted he had a tough time gripping the ball throughout the contest. The weather is expected to be much nicer for his Sunday night matchup in Green Bay. The Packers surrendered a QB10 finish to Kirk Cousins in a Minnesota blowout on Sunday. If Fields can produce 17-plus points against a tough San Francisco defense in terrible weather conditions, you would think he could turn in 20-plus fantasy points fairly easily this week. Fields may also be a sneaky NFL DFS pick this week.

Streamer #2:  Carson Wentz at Lions, 16.8% owned

 Week  Opponent  Fantasy Points
 1  vs Jaguars  35.7

Who would’ve guessed that Carson Wentz would finish as the QB3 in Week 1? No, the Jaguars’ defense isn’t all that great, but he failed to reach 30 fantasy points a single time last season with Indianapolis. With the trio of skilled receivers (Curtis Samuel, Terry McLaurin, and Jahan Dotson), Wentz is now able to play more of his style. Surely he won’t produce 30-plus points every week, but he has a decent shot at extending his streak against a poor Lions defense in Week 2. Detroit’s defense allowed 32 points to Philadelphia a week ago, as Jalen Hurts turned in a QB7 finish without throwing for a single touchdown in the game.

TIGHT END

Tyler Higbee

Streamer #1:  Tyler Higbee vs Falcons, 49.8% owned

Week Opponent PPR  Points Half PPR Points Standard Points
1 vs Bills 8.9 6.4 3.9

If you look at the box score for Higbee in his Week 1 matchup against the Bills, it doesn’t look spectacular. But if you look close enough, Higbee was a huge part of Sean McVay’s offense last Thursday. He played 94 percent of the team’s offensive snaps, and Matthew Stafford targeted him 11 times! He only hauled in five of those targets, but he has a very enticing Week 2 matchup against the Falcons. Atlanta is coming off a Week 1 matchup where they allowed the fourth-most fantasy points to the tight end position. Taysom Hill and Juwan Johnson combined for 21.6 PPR points in the contest. If you need to stream this position this week, Higbee is one of the best options if he’s available.

Streamer #2:  Evan Engram vs Colts, 20.4% owned

Week  Opponent  PPR  Points  Half PPR Points  Standard Points
 1  at WFT  6.8  4.8  2.8

In a pass-happy game against Washington a week ago, Trevor Lawrence didn’t look Engram’s way a ton. Instead, Lawrence targeted Christian Kirk 12 times, Zay Jones nine times, and Marvin Jones six times. But the four targets Engram saw were hauled in for 28 yards. Don’t expect 27 targets to go towards that trio of receivers again this week, as Jacksonville takes on an Indianapolis team that struggled to defend Houston’s tight ends on Sunday. In fact, only two NFL teams surrendered more points to the tight end position than the Colts did in Week 1 (Raiders and Broncos). Engram is expected to be heavily involved this week, and he’s one of the better streaming options at the tight end position (but if you can, stream the tight end below in the BONUS section ahead of Engram).

D/ST

Browns Defense 1

Streamer #1:  Browns vs Jets, 46.0% owned

 Week  Opponent  Fantasy Points
 1  at Panthers  8.0

Cleveland comes into Week 2 as the D/ST9 after a decent performance against Baker Mayfield and the Carolina Panthers. During the contest, they allowed 18 points while turning in three sacks, one fumble recovery, one interception, and eight fantasy points. Expect more from them this week, as they take on Joe Flacco and the Jets. Last week, New York only mustered to put up nine points on the scoreboard against the Ravens. Against another tough AFC North opponent, they should have another rough outing on offense. Streaming the team against the Jets is never a bad idea.

Streamer #2:  Bengals at Cowboys, 39.5% owned

 Week  Opponent  Fantasy Points
 1  vs Steelers  4.0

Did you see how bad Dallas’ offense was last week against the Buccaneers? They scored three total points with Dak Prescott playing most of the game. Now without their starting signal-caller, the Cowboys are expected to start Cooper Rush. He’s only started one career game in five years, and Cincinnati is coming off a decent performance against Pittsburgh on Sunday. Although they only registered four fantasy points, the Bengals held the Steelers to 17 points on the day. Expect a low-scoring affair once again from the Cowboys against this stingy Cincinnati defense, to go along with a few turnovers. If you find yourself streaming the D/ST position this week, the Bengals may be the best option for you.

BONUS

Gerald Everett 1

Deep Stream: Gerald Everett at Chiefs, 13.6% owned

Week  Opponent  PPR  Points  Half PPR Points  Standard Points
 1  vs Raiders  14.4  12.9  11.4

As mentioned above, Everett is one of the best streaming options at tight end this week. He may see a huge increase in roster percentage after his great Week 1 outing. He hauled in three of his four targets for 54 yards and a touchdown against the Raiders, as he finished as the TE4 on the week. Now he and the Chargers take on the Chiefs, who allowed a Week 1 touchdown to Zach Ertz. The main reason why we should all be high on streaming Everett this week is because of the loss of Keenan Allen due to a hamstring injury. He will not be able to suit up for Thursday Night Football. Herbert is expected to rely on Mike Williams, Josh Palmer, and Everett a ton. Double-digit fantasy points are an expectation for the journeyman tight end this week.
