Streaming options need to be monitored daily at this point. With COVID-19 ruining the chances for some of your players to play, you need to make sure you are targeting your star players’ back-ups/replacements. It’s always better to be safe. For example, if you grabbed Tyler Huntley to replace Lamar Jackson this past week, you look like a genius! For now, the players below are assumed to be healthy and free from the virus. And they could help you advance to your fantasy championships. As always, we will provide the best weekly options to stream at quarterback, tight end, and D/ST. Keep in mind, each streaming option will be below 50% owned, according to ESPN leagues.

Cam doesn’t look like the long-term option for Carolina, but he’s the best they’ve got at the quarterback position for now. Although his passing statistics are outright disgusting, he’s been very productive with his feet, which goes a long way in fantasy football. In five games played for the Panthers this season, Newton has carried the ball into the end zone in every one of them. There’s no question that he’s a huge threat inside the five-yard line. The veteran signal-caller has been inconsistent when it comes to fantasy numbers, but he’s coming off a 23.4-point performance against a Bills team that typically shuts down opposing team’s quarterbacks.
This week, Newton takes on an injury-riddled Buccaneers team that lost Lavonte David for the remainder of the regular season. To make matters worse for Tampa Bay, Chris Godwin and Leonard Fournette are slated to miss time. Mike Evans, Antonio Brown, and Giovani Bernard are all questionable to play this week as well. This means Carolina will likely control time of possession more than they would have if those players were healthy. We’ve seen big fantasy performances given up by the Buccaneers this season. They’ve allowed 25 or more points to the quarterback position four times. Newton will more than likely fall short of that number, but he has a good shot at scoring 15 or more.

Like Newton above, Fields isn’t playing flawless football right now. In fact, he’s turned the ball over 15 times in 12 games played. Here’s why you need to think about streaming him this week. HE RUNS A FREAKING 4.4! The kid has wheels, and he’s been very dangerous with his feet as of late. In his last seven games, he’s accumulated 361 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown. He’s fourth in the league, amongst quarterbacks, in rushing yards on the season (420). Although his matchup this week against Seattle isn’t the most enticing on paper, Fields is going to produce. He’s a safer, and better, streaming option than Newton for this week. The rookie has surpassed 15 fantasy points in four out of his last five games. In the one game he fell short (Week 11 against the Ravens), he suffered cracked ribs and exited the contest. He’s looking to take off more than ever these days. With a lackluster offensive line attempting to protect him, he has no choice but to scramble and make something happen. If you find yourself scrambling around in search of a quarterback to start, streaming Fields this week should serve your team well.

Henry has been inconsistent all season long. But it was hard to look past the fact that Mac Jones made him his number one pass-catching option this past week. Henry hauled in six of his eight targets for 77 yards and two touchdowns. Three of his targets were in the endzone, and he sits behind only Mark Andrews in total red zone targets this season (17). Sure, he has his games where he fails to even produce five fantasy points, but with the lack of big-play opportunities on the outside for New England, Jones may continue to target Henry at a high rate for the remainder of the season. Henry didn’t play in the windy and ugly matchup against the Bills in Week 13, but he will have to be targeted a good amount if New England wants to squeak another win against their division rivals this week. Because the tight end position is so hard to stream, Henry is probably your best option for this week.
Streamer #2: Cole Kmet at SEA, 22.6% owned

Kmet hasn’t been a great fantasy tight end this season, but he’s been serviceable. Outside of Darnell Mooney, the second-year pro has been Fields’ favorite target (which isn’t saying a whole lot). The big tight end hauled in six of his nine targets for 71 yards this past week. He’s drawn at least five targets in eight of his last nine games played. During his past four games, he’s hauled in 20 of his 32 targets for 194 yards and no touchdowns. What’s crazy is that Kmet hasn’t crossed the pylon once this entire season; even though he’s drawn in nine red zone targets. It’s not a given, but it would be hard to think that he will fail to score the entire season. Maybe this is the week for him? Seattle has allowed eight touchdowns to the tight end position in 2021. They’ve also allowed the sixth-most fantasy points to the position this year. Even if he doesn’t find a way to haul in his first touchdown reception of the season, Kmet is a solid streaming option for Week 16.

Los Angeles’ defense has mightily fallen short of expectations this season. They currently rank 25th in fantasy points scored on the year. But you should consider streaming them this week, as they draw a great matchup against the Texans. Houston has given up the fifth-most fantasy points to opposing defenses this season. They’ve also turned the ball over 21 times in 14 games. To make matters worse for Houston, they rank second-to-last in points scored per game. Not only should the Chargers force a couple of turnovers, but they should also have their way of keeping this Texans team out of the end zone. If you need to stream your D/ST position this week, the Chargers could be your best option. You’re not afraid of the trio of Davis Mills, David Johnson, and Brandin Cooks are you?
Streamer #2: Seattle Seahawks vs CHI, 30.7% owned

Although the Chargers are a great streaming option this week, Seattle could make a run for their money as the top streaming option at the D/ST position here in Week 16. They’ve been a middle-of-the-pack defense all season, and they’ve generated at least four fantasy points in each of their last four games. They don’t give you that solid double-digit number that you’re hoping for regularly, but they are a safe option this week. With a matchup against the Bears, they draw a ton of value in a crucial time of the year for fantasy managers. Chicago has given up the second-most turnovers in the league this season, and they have also given up the fourth-most fantasy points to opposing defenses in 2021. During their current three-game losing streak, they’ve surrendered a combined eight sacks, six interceptions, four fumbles lost, one blocked kick, one defensive touchdown, and 39 fantasy points. It’s safe to say that you can’t go wrong streaming Seattle this week.

I mentioned him in the intro, and who would’ve thought that Huntley would’ve finished as the QB1 of Week 15? He played out of his mind, and at times, he looked better than the Lamar Jackson we have seen here in the ladder half of the season. The dual-threat signal-caller completed 28 of his 40 pass attempts for 215 yards and two touchdowns. A ton of his fantasy points came from his legs, as he rushed for 73 yards and two more touchdowns. His 35.9 fantasy points are the seventh-most produced by a quarterback this entire season. If Jackson is healthy, he will get his starting gig back. But we need to monitor his situation. He hasn’t returned to practice yet, and his Week 16 status is in question. If he’s unable to go, Huntley becomes a better streaming option than both Newton and Fields for this week.
As mentioned in the intro, PLEASE monitor your players every day, and make sure to look at all of your options in free agency. There is no room for error anymore, and you need to capitalize on your opponent’s mistake(s). We are in this together, and if you have any questions about your lineup this week, reach out to us here at DFF. Make sure to tune in for Weeks 17 and 18 as well, as we help provide advice throughout the entire fantasy playoffs. Did you enjoy this article and want more Dynasty, Devy, IDP, and Redraft content?
