The BWinkNFL Dynasty Christmas Wishlist: 2023

Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good evening as we near everyone’s favorite new day in the fantasy season: the offseason! In the spirit of giving and receiving, I wanted to give you all some insight into my personal dynasty wishlist for this upcoming offseason. I’ll touch briefly on several players I’m hoping to increase my exposure to this offseason and give you some ideas for some trades (some of which I’ve personally executed) you can try to make happen. Without further ado, let’s get right into it.

Anthony Richardson

My QB1 from the 2023 draft class saw his season come to an unfortunate early end this year but flashed every bit of the upside I had hoped to see from him. A year to sit and develop could prove to be incredibly beneficial for Richardson’s growth as a passer. Assuming a full recovery, Richardson will slot right back into the top of fantasy leaderboards week in and week out, just as he did in both games he played fully this season. You all know how I feel about this kid, and he’s absolutely a top-priority acquisition this offseason. There’s never been a better time to buy into Anthony Richardson than now, so don’t miss out!

Trade Idea: Josh Allen for Anthony Richardson + 2025 1 + 2025 2

Will Levis

Levis has had a tumultuous rookie campaign, even going as far back as his draft process, but seems to have solidified himself as the Titans’ starter of the future, or at the very least for a couple more seasons. Levis has had some absolutely nails performances, including a 35-point debut against Atlanta in Week 8 and an insane come-from-behind win over Miami on Monday Night Football. Unfortunately, these flashes haven’t translated much to fantasy points, as he sits right around 13 points per game. Fortunately, I love buying good football players, especially when they aren’t scoring fantasy points and are tricking their managers into thinking they’re bad. Levis is a fantastic value at the moment and a strong buy in Superflex formats.

Recent BWinkNFL Trade: Chris Olave for Tank Dell + Will Levis

Jayden Daniels

A little added devy spice for your wishlist segment comes in the form of my early sleeper in the 2024 draft class. Daniels shot up my draft board in November during my preliminary film review of the quarterback class, standing out obviously due to his insane athleticism reminiscent of another hyper-mobile dual-threat Heisman winner who was slept on by the NFL and has since silenced all doubt. I need to look further into Daniels before I can confidently cement him as my 1.02, which I have hinted at on Twitter/X, but I still think he’s a great value in Devy at the moment.

Recent BWinkNFL Devy Trade: Jayden Daniels for Dante Moore + Nick Singleton

Jahmyr Gibbs

The gift that has kept on giving this fantasy season has been the breakout of Jahmyr Gibbs. After a sluggish first four weeks, Gibbs returned from a hamstring injury and has lit the fantasy world on fire, finishing as the overall RB3 or higher in six out of his last nine games. Gibbs’ next-level explosiveness and elite receiving ability make him one of the most potent assets in all of fantasy football, and he’s not going anywhere anytime soon. I’m happy to pay up, whatever the cost, if he’s made available.

Trade Idea: 1.02 for Gibbs++ (do this in April to capitalize on rookie fever)

Chase Brown

The Bengals have been one of the more interesting stories of the back half of the 2023 season, and a small part of that has been the emergence of Chase Brown as another explosive weapon in Zac Taylor’s arsenal. Brown burst onto the scene with some splash plays in weeks 13 and 14, and while his snap share and raw usage remain low, I have some hope for Brown as a deep sleeper this offseason, with the incumbent Joe Mixon continuing to near the inevitable RB age cliff. Brown seems to be hopefully earning a shot at Mixon’s job, should they move on from him anytime soon, and is a sneaky buy for managers who may be overlooking him due to his potential for irrelevancy. That doesn’t sound like a great sales pitch, but trust me, this kid has juice.

Trade Idea: Tyler Lockett for Chase Brown

Garrett Wilson

It appears I was a year too early on my “Garrett Wilson Dynasty WR3” agenda, which still may never come to fruition with the pending arrival of Marvin Harrison Jr.. However, Wilson’s upside with Aaron Rodgers back under center remains astronomically high, so I’ll again be looking to fill my portfolio with Gwil shares. His talent has never been the issue, and his situation next season is just as amazing as it was this year, so I see no reason to stop buying, especially at such a discounted price.

Recent BWinkNFL Trade: Garrett Wilson + 2025 1 for Rachaad White, Joe Mixon, Tyler Lockett, and Noah Brown (I love leverage)

Nico Collins and Tank Dell

Nico’s breakout in 2023, and generally the Texans’ offense, has been one of the best beats of the season. Despite battling some nagging injuries here and there, Nico is poised for a high-end WR2 finish in a crowded receiver fantasy landscape. His connection with the NFL’s newest golden boy makes him a promising buy with a boatload of fantasy upside. With a mutually beneficial 1A-1B relationship with a fellow elite young WR in Tank Dell, the Texans’ offense has the potential to be a fantasy goldmine for years to come.

Recent BWinkNFL Trade: James Cook for Nico Collins

Jaxon Smith-Njigba

It’s required some patience, but we finally have some cause for optimism heading into 2024 for Jaxon Smith-Njigba. He’s been limited by low snap counts and low raw usage all season long but has come on strong when given the opportunity and is a prime breakout candidate heading into his second season. I can’t wait to see what JSN does in a featured role and maybe even in a new-look offense with a change at QB and possibly at OC as well. He’s a strong buy and will be all offseason.

Trade Idea: T.J. Hockenson for JSN and Michael Mayer

Tee Higgins

Higgins’ 2023, like many others on this list, has been marked by ups and downs, injuries, and more. Through it all, Tee has still managed to post four top-12 finishes in 10 active games (not including Week 1, of course). Granted, this is far from the production you drafted him for, but it has brought us to a point where Tee is significantly undervalued compared to his talent level. Even if he stays in Cincinnati, he’s produced fantasy WR2 numbers alongside Ja’Marr and is still a valuable asset. The added upside of him potentially being a team’s #1 option next season makes him a great value at cost. However, I will note this one depends more on your specific target manager’s temperament on Tee.

Trade Idea: 1.07 for Tee Higgins (can maybe even get a + in April!)

Drake London

Quite similarly to Higgins, London’s 2023 season has been a far cry from what I had hoped. When given a chance to do so, he’s posted some monster stat lines, including a 9-125-0 week and a 10-172-0 week both times he’s seen double-digit targets this year (yes, only twice). For reference, fellow second-year WRs Garrett Wilson and Chris Olave have seen 8 and 6 of such games, respectively. We might end up saying this every season, but if Atlanta can manage to get a competent passer, London has just as much upside as almost any receiver in the league.

Trade Idea: Zay Flowers/Jordan Addison for Drake London (maybe even a +)

Michael Mayer

I can keep this one brief: Michael Mayer is 2024’s Trey McBride. Go buy him! In all seriousness, Mayer has the potential to make a huge leap next season. Thanks to his lack of 2023 production, which you’ve found has been a common theme throughout this wishlist (I hate scoring fantasy points), Mayer is quite cheap for an early-2nd round TE who had mid-1st round draft buzz for most of the process.

Yes, he hasn’t produced to nearly the tune we had hoped, but that’s also a consistent theme for rookie tight ends. And yes, Sam LaPorta is literally the best thing to happen to mankind since sliced bread. The talent and athleticism are there for Mayer, and he’s put it together on a couple of occasions this season. I love his physicality and play style, and I can only hope he’s given the volume to make something happen next year. You can acquire Mayer even just as a casual throw-in, which I’ll detail in the trade idea below.

Recent BWinkNFL Trade: Josh Allen for Deshaun Watson, 2024 1.03, 2024 2.03, 2025 1, and Michael Mayer

That puts a bow on my 2024 dynasty offseason wishlist. I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and maybe even got a few championship bids over the weekend. Shoot me a follow on Twitter/X to watch my takes grow from the ground up like the cute little Brussels sprouts they are. And once again, happy holidays from the DFF Army!
