The Wire: Week 9

Welcome back to another weekly edition of “The Wire”. In this series, I review three players each week that you should target on the waiver wire for your Dynasty teams. To keep the information in this series consistent, I will only refer to players with an ownership percentage of less than 50%, according to Sleeper Dynasty leagues. I’ll do my best to provide you with players that have a more long-term upside rather than a one-week ceiling, seeing that this is a Dynasty series and not Redraft. So, sit back, relax, and let me find you some diamonds in the rough!

Week 8 Dynasty Waiver Wire Adds

The quarterback carousel is in full swing this week as multiple quarterbacks got injured leading to their backups stealing the show. Below you’ll find some quarterbacks to target on your dynasty teams. Some may be more of a dart throw, but others could carve out a nice role for themselves. In dynasty, you can never have too many quarterbacks and when you don’t know the severity of some of these injuries, you could sneakily find yourself rich with quarterback options.

One Week Ahead: Part 7

Playing on just over 50% of the offensive snaps for the season, tight end Mo Alie-Cox may be a decent pick up in a position that is so hit or miss. Scoring touchdowns in back-to-back weeks, Alie-Cox is a big target who can pose as a real red-zone threat. This past week, Alie-Cox played fewer snaps and ran fewer routes than fellow tight end Jack Doyle. However, he drew more targets and produced better fantasy numbers than him. Alie-Cox he yet to log more than three catches in a game and has recorded over 30 yards in just two contests. Most likely, he will be a touchdown-dependent player.

Week 7 Dynasty Waiver Wire Adds

Go ahead and take a quick look to see if Ja’Marr Chase is available in your leagues…sheesh, he put on a show this week and is looking like a potential top 5 dynasty wide receiver already! Unfortunately, Chase will not be available. So, keep reading to see who you can look to add to your roster in hopes of making your team more well-rounded as we move into the second half of the season.

One Week Ahead: Part 6

Texans wide receiver, Nico Collins made his return from injury on Sunday. In this game, he caught four of his six targets for 44 yards. Nothing earth-shattering, however, it was encouraging to see him on the field getting substantial looks. Despite playing on just 57% of snaps, Collins was second on the team in targets.

We will try to get a leg up on our opponents by picking up potential fantasy assets before they become a major waiver wire pick-up.

Bench Churning and Why You Should Be Doing It

In most dynasty leagues, once the season starts there isn’t always much to be done on the waiver wire. There’s always going to be players that breakout, but if your league has deep benches, they may already be rostered. Churning your bench is a relatively simple strategy that has benefits beyond just keeping you busy on waivers during the season.

The Dynasty Wire: Week 16

This week and every week going forward we’ll bring you several recommendations for players you should add to your dynasty rosters. We’ll mainly be targeting lower-owned guys who should be available in all but the deepest leagues.

James Robinson is the clear workhorse back in Jacksonville but a recent high ankle sprain opened the door for Dare Ogunbowale to show what he can do. The former Buccaneer carried the ball 14 times for 74 yards, proving he can still produce as a runner in the NFL. Ogunbowale isn’t about to take the lead role from James Robinson but he is worth rostering in dynasty leagues.

The Dynasty Wire: Week 15

This week and every week going forward we’ll bring you several recommendations for players you should add to your dynasty rosters. We’ll mainly be targeting lower-owned guys who should be available in all but the deepest leagues.

Someone will need to explain to me why Chad Hansen is still on the waiver wire in any dynasty leagues. Not because he’s going to break out and become an every-week starter going forward but because there hasn’t been a single game he’s played in which he didn’t score 10+ fantasy points. The Houston receiving corps is decimated by injuries and Hansen is feasting on the opportunities. You should own him to sell him to the highest bidder if nothing else.
