2020 NFL Draft Winners/Losers

The NFL Draft is all about improving a team and injecting youth into a roster. The 2020 NFL Draft specifically has been highly touted as one of the best classes in years and comes at a time when people need something to take their minds off of our real-world problems. Much like years past, things haven’t gone as expected and front offices have made some head-scratching selections.

Marqise Lee and the Patriots WRs

In my previous offseason reaction articles, I’ve looked at a variety of offseason moves and how they relate to dynasty formats. The full list of links is at the bottom of the article. While this move isn’t the most exciting or flashy transaction, it’s still important to look at the Patriots’ WR depth chart and see how their offseason signings, including Marqise Lee, impact it.

N’Keal Harry: Player Profile

Coming out of college, NFL.com had Harry as a guy that would win contested catch opportunities outside the numbers, could body up opponents, and win with ball skills. Looking back at Harry’s 12 catches, these traits stick out. Harry only played seven games. Even in limited games, he wasn’t targeted nearly enough to be a factor in the New England offense last season.

Worst Landing Spots: QB 2020 NFL Draft

The quarterback position is somewhat similar to tight ends in that you’re usually fine with any landing spot affording you a shot at a legitimate and immediately productive fantasy asset. Drafting a starting quarterback is great but ask the Dwayne Haskins or Sam Darnold owners how they feel about it so far. Some teams are not equipped to support or develop a high-level quarterback. These are those organizations.

Dead to Me

Year after year you get your hopes up just to be let down by inconsistent, underwhelming, and untimely performances. These guys are only hot when they burn you, otherwise, their fantasy production is as cold as ice

AFC East Divisional Nuggets: Year End

Josh Allen ends the season as your fantasy QB6 but he only averaged 18.6 FPPG. That’s only significant because you can find quarterbacks later in your drafts who could produce more this year. The good news is he threw for 1,000 more yards than his rookie year and doubled his touchdowns from 10 to 20 this year. He also decreased his interception percentage from 3.8 to 2.0. Allen is only in his second year and has plenty of room for improvement.

AFC East Factory Divisional Nuggets: Week 8

Parker has caught 50 yards or a touchdown in each of the last four games. It’s no surprise his targets and production have increased since Ryan Fitzpatrick was named the starter. He’s received 8 targets and is the WR20 in the two games with Fitzpatrick as the starter. Parker has one of the highest average depths of target (aDot) (15.5) among receivers with over 30 targets. He has a higher aDot than Kenny Golladay and Mike Williams. He’s also tied for fifth in average targeted air yards (15.4) among pass catchers. Look for him on your waivers if available. Otherwise, stash him if you got him. It doesn’t appear he will be traded — one of the few pieces the Fins are willing to hang on to.

AFC East Factory Divisional Nuggets: Week 6

Josh Allen put on one of his best performances of the season just a week after suffering a concussion against the New England Patriots. He didn’t set the world on fire, but he was more than competent in leading his team to victory. He threw for a season-high 71.88% completion rate and the only two scores for the Bills against the number six passing defense in the league. Allen has also rushed for three touchdowns this season and is averaging 31.6 yards-per-game, down from 52.6 in 2018. That said, his rushing production thrusts him into fantasy relevancy. He was the QB12 in Week 5 and is QB16 on the season after the bye week. Allen is a fringe top 12 quarterback rest of season and has even higher upside based on matchups. He gets the Dolphins in Week 7 and that means you want Josh Allen in your lineup.
