2022 DFF Draft Coverage: Kevin Harris

Harris was selected with the 183-overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft by the New England Patriots. And this is terrible for his fantasy prospects. He was the second RB drafted by a team that already employs Damien Harris and Rhamondre Stevenson. So, at best Harris is RB4 on the depth chart and not a guy I have much interest in until very late in fantasy drafts. In the early fifth round he could be a fine pick. But seeing where his value shakes out will be important. I do like to bet on talent over situation and I believe Harris is talented. But this combination of poor draft capital and terrible landing spot has dropped him far out of my top 10 RBs for this class.

Rookie Prospecting Through Data: Kevin Harris

This series of articles will cover the process I use to prospect and filter through each year’s rookie class, with each piece outlining a new player. I like using data to initialize my prospect profiles because it’s easy to examine many players quickly. Another reason is that there are no biases, it is strictly transposing stats from SRCFB and PlayerProfiler to my database. This lets me get a clear view of the player’s overall profile without any outside opinions or flashy highlights swaying my opinions. Once I collect the players and their stats I put them into groupings and then ultimately rank them. The next player of this series is a guy that has NFL workhorse size and a great production profile but is somehow not in everyone’s top-12 rookie running backs yet.

NFL Combine: “Does Size Matter?” Running Back Edition

Each year the NFL Combine hosts about 40 of the top college running backs from around the country who have declared for this year’s NFL draft. They then have these players perform drills, various tests, as well as weigh them and measure their heights. The test and measurements I will be looking at are the 40-yard dash and a back’s height, weight, and BMI.

This series is coming to you on a bi-weekly basis in 2021. Week Zero and Week One of the college football season had a familiar feel with virtually every conference and every level of collegiate ball being played. There have already been several unprecedented upsets and perennial top-10 ranked teams taking losses. These games were highlighted by Clemson’s loss to Georgia in Week Zero, as well as Ohio State’s loss to Oregon and Iowa State’s loss to Iowa in Week One. Kyren Williams: 2021 Devy Profile

Kyren Williams is a 5’9” 195 lbs. running back that was a former four-star recruit. He was 247’s 24th ranked running back in the 2019 class and the sixth-ranked player from Missouri. Williams was an all-purpose stand-out in high school, helping lead his team to a state championship in 2018 with a state-championship game record of 289 rushing yards and 354 total yards.

Kevin Harris is a 5’10” 227 lbs. running back that was a former three-star recruit. He was 247’s 44th ranked running back in the 2019 class. When reviewing his high school tape, Harris was most likely overlooked for two reasons. He played at a smaller high school and his offensive line at his high school was very effective, minimizing both the need and opportunity for him to break tackles.

Draft Stock Watch: Week 14

Each week I will bring you the latest updates and NFL buzz surrounding college players that should prove to be integral to future fantasy success. I will utilize recent statistics, performance and film, and general “front office whispers” to compile the intel I share with you. My hope is to provide you with a leg up on your opponents. You will know which devy players to target in trades and/or in what range of draft picks (both NFL and fantasy drafts) you can expect these players to be selected. Now that Week 14 of the college football season has come and gone, we have a lot to examine. We saw a few teams fall from the ranks of the undefeated, one of which (#21 Marshall) was shut out. The top four teams in the nation flexed their muscles again, winning in dominant fashion. A couple of Heisman hopefuls made convincing cases to stay in the rankings, as we saw one unexpectedly stumble. The emergency scheduling of the “Mormons vs. Mullets” matchup played out as the game of the season. We now take a few minutes to look at some future fantasy players and how their draft stocks were affected!

Draft Stock Watch: Week 11

There were not many surprises in the Week 11 slate games this weekend, as the only ranked team to fall was #17 SMU in a close loss to Tulsa in which they led most of the game. Observing the shift in power among the BIG10 and SEC football conferences have proven interesting to watch this season. This past weekend, from an individual performance standpoint, there were a lot of future NFL stars to post strong stat lines, making this weeks’ featured risers a difficult decision. We will now detail some of this weekend’s performances that have prospects rising the ranks and/or tumbling down the proverbial NFL Draft hill.
