DFS Week 3 Recap

Another week of football, another week of craziness! When the top five scoring running backs consist of Najee Harris, Kareem Hunt, Peyton Barber, Alexander Mattison, and James Robinson, up you know it was a crazy week! With that being said, let’s see how my weekly DFS picks played out!

DFS Week 2

What a crazy week one. We saw top fantasy assets completely bust and low-owned players perform at a high level. This is why you can never just assume results. A good way to prevent weekly ‘busts’ is to create multiple lineups and have exposure to a multitude of different players.

DFS Week 1

I am going to highlight some of the best plays for this Sunday’s main slate. I have broken these plays down by position and by “Top Price”, “Middle Price”, and “Low Price”.  Then, I list the players’ respective prices, projected points, and projected ownership in tournaments. Projected ownership is important to keep in mind for tournament plays as opposed to a regular cash play. In the “Notes,” I have given my thoughts about each player. I have also color-coded the quality level of each play. Green stands for a top-tier play, yellow is a middle-tier play, and red is a fade play.

Paul’s Picks: DFS Week 5

Two games have been moved off of the main slate8, leaving us with ten games to sort through in Week 5. I’ll be breaking down each matchup, sharing my thoughts on player prices* and stacking opportunities. As you read, please note that the player names in bold are what I consider my “core” players or guys that I’m sliding into a large percentage of my lineups. Oh, and if you’re new to DFS, you should check out my DFS Tips and Tricks article here.

DFS Tips and Tricks

Building a DFS lineup can be a daunting task. The salary cap system is vastly different from a typical snake draft, and the potential player combinations are quite literally endless. In this article, I’ll be laying out some of my favorite DFS strategies and tips to help you sift through those difficult decisions and set your lineups with confidence.

What You Need to Know About DFS

There has never been a better time to try DFS. Injuries? Holdouts? COVID designations? As a DFS player, nothing can phase you. Instead of rushing out to the waiver wire or frantically trading for the backups of your injured players, you can just sit back and relax while you wait for all the news to come out. You can build your lineup ten minutes before kickoff on Sunday if you want to. And, of course, the best reason to try DFS is… *drumroll please* … you can win a TON of money and have fun doing it. All it takes is the right strategy (keep an eye out for my Tips and Tricks article) and a little bit of luck.

Every week this article identifies and breaks down a variety of players to consider in your DraftKings tournament lineups. Top Fanduel Plays: Week 12

Putting together the perfect DFS lineup with four teams on bye is never easy but there is no need to stress. I’m here to breakdown my top options for this week’s Fanduel main slate. As I always do, I’ll highlight one “stud” play and one “value” play for each position. It’s important to find value anywhere you can in DFS allowing you to stock up on studs elsewhere. So, without further ado, let’s get into it.

Top Fanduel Plays: Week 9

Matthew Stafford @ Oakland ($7,900)
Matthew Stafford and the Detroit Lions head west this week to face the Raiders and their 31st ranked pass defense in what should be one of the highest-scoring games on Sunday’s slate. The Lions’ offense has been red hot lately, with Stafford scoring 23 or more Fanduel points in three of his last four matchups.

DraftKings: Main Slate GPP Tournament Plays for Week 8

Russell Wilson ($7,200) is strictly a GPP play for me on DraftKings this week, priced all the way up to $7,200. He should smash against an Atlanta defense that ranks at or near the bottom of the league in just about every meaningful defensive statistic. The issue here is Atlanta’s ability to stay in this game, which is highly correlated with the health of Matt Ryan, who left in the second half of Week 7 with an ankle injury. While the Seahawks have some problems in the secondary, they do a good job of putting pressure on opposing quarterbacks, which is less than ideal given the Falcons porous offensive line. With Matt Schaub under center, it’s unlikely that the Falcons can hang offensively, and even with a limited Ryan, you need Atlanta to put up an offensive showing in order to force Wilson into the kind of game script his price tag requires.

DraftKings: Main Slate GPP Tournament Plays for Week 7

Russell Wilson ($6,600)
So far this season Seattle has displayed a rather middle of the road defense, which has often forced Russell Wilson to be more aggressive both as a runner and a passer. That has quietly translated into averages of 284 passing yards and over 25 rushing yards per game with 17 combined touchdowns through the first six weeks. This week the Ravens come to town, but this game profiles to be nothing like we would have imagined just a season or two ago. These days Baltimore’s defense is arguably worse than Seattle’s, while at the same time second-year quarterback Lamar Jackson has been giving defensive coordinators nightmares and has the team averaging more than 30 points per game. That makes this exactly the type of spot where Wilson has historically put the Seahawks on his back, and this game has all the makings of a high-scoring affair where he should put up a huge fantasy day.

DraftKings: Main Slate GPP Tournament Plays for Week 5

Deshaun Watson ($6,700)
Of all the games on the Sunday main slate, Vegas has this one pegged with the highest projected total at 48.5 points and the Texans favored by less than a touchdown. Through four weeks Watson has been alternating between being a fantasy monster, with 31.72 DraftKings points in Week 1 and 29.84 in Week 3, and then a fantasy dud, with Week 2 and Week 4 totals of 12.86 and 12.6 DraftKings points respectively.

DraftKings: Main Slate GPP Tournament Plays for Week 4

Every week this article identifies and breaks down a variety of players to consider in your DraftKings tournament lineups. While some of the plays may be on the safer side, I also include a number of high risk-high reward options as well. In GPPs the goal is always to figure out how to differentiate your lineup just enough to get away from the field and give yourself a chance at a big payday. Remember, more often than not there’s no need to get super-weird and roster an entire lineup of off-the-board plays, but rather to build a lineup with upside and then identify a low-owned player or two that has a chance to go off and jump you to the top of a large-field GPP.

Top Fanduel Plays: Week Three

Two weeks have come and gone in the NFL, and they have been a couple of brutal ones for starting quarterbacks. Between the injuries of Nick Foles, Sam Darnold, Drew Brees, Ben Roethlisberger, and Cam Newton, the quarterback landscape, in just two weeks, has drastically changed. Now the question is, how will that affect the surrounding players in those offenses? Whether you’re playing in season-long or DFS, you’ll have to adjust your regular strategies and find new ways to win.Today, I’m going to help you out on the DFS side of things by breaking down my top Fanduel plays of Week 3.

Thursday Night Weekly Kickoff

Week three of “Thursday Night Kick-off” starts with a defensive divisional matchup. The Jacksonville Jaguars will host the Tennessee Titans. With both teams coming off a loss, a win is needed to get back on track. This makes for a great game to start your daily fantasy week off with and is located under the classic section of Draft Kings. This is game one out of 16 total scheduled games this week, so it’s imperative to get a great start so you can finish strong on Sunday. So let’s hunker down and see what fantasy gold we can add to our team this week to put us in the “Green”.

It’s week two of the NFL season, and this week should be just as great as last week. There’s a set of great matchups to take a look at, but be careful; the second week can really sour expectations. Hop in and find out where the pitfalls lie, and where the best bets are.
