Darrel Williams

Darrel Williams: 2020 Dynasty Profile

n Week 1, Darrel played 33% of the offensive snaps, compared to 67% for Edwards-Helaire. Most notably, Thompson didn’t play a single offensive snap, making it clear that Darrel is the direct backup to Edwards-Helaire. Unfortunately, Edwards-Helaire had 25 carries compared to only seven for Darrel, a larger split than most expected. I believed the Chiefs would ease Edwards-Helaire into the starter’s role at the beginning of the season, but they handed him a full workload from Day 1.

Welcome Back to Football

Welcome Back to Football

This will be a super free-form article, where I discuss how exciting it was finally to have football back on Thursday night. Even though the Chiefs-Texans matchup didn’t provide the most exciting football, it felt amazing to see a real-life game. With the COVID-19 pandemic hanging over our heads all summer, I wasn’t sure we’d get to this point. Getting through the first game gives me confidence that we will have a full season.

However, while the game had more emotional significance to me than fantasy significance, it still provided multiple important fantasy storylines that I want to discuss. The Chiefs and Texans have two of the NFL’s best quarterbacks in Patrick Mahomes and Deshaun Watson. The Chiefs’ offense, in particular, is likely the strongest in the league, containing numerous exciting fantasy options. With that all said, let’s focus on a few critical storylines from each team, starting with the Chiefs and followed by the Texans.

Sleeper Series: DeAndre Washington

After writing my redraft team breakdown series, I decided to start a new series as we approach the 2020 fantasy season. Every week, or probably more often than that, I’m going to bring you one fantasy sleeper representing a massive value in 2020 redraft leagues. All the links to previous articles are at the bottom of the article. In the first article, I detailed my methodology behind this series, so go back and read that piece if you haven’t yet! This time, we’re digging deep. DeAndre Washington is barely on most redraft owners’ draft boards, but I think he provides excellent handcuff value in 2020. Let’s jump into why I’d love to select Washington with one of my final picks in 2020 redraft leagues.

A Look Back: Rookie Targets

Continuing my “A Look Back” series, I wanted to go back even further than the 2019 regular season and reference some of my 2019 pre-draft content. In this two-part article, I’m going to take a look at two articles I published in mid-to-late August 2019 about rookies in redraft. Let’s start with the three targets.

Diamonds in the Rough: Rookie Sleepers AFC West

The AFC West has given me the smallest pool of talent to select from for my fourth round or later criteria, but it’s okay! As Dark Helmet combed the desert looking for Princess Vespa, we will comb through our prospects until we find just the right one for you. I would have to call these divisions choices the lottery team, we’re selecting high-ceiling, low-floor players.

Needless to say, these players should be selected if you have an every week starter in situ, enough backups on your roster already, and have the roster size to draft this player and have him sit for a year.

NFL Draft Late Round Sleepers: Running backs

And just like that, the 2019 NFL draft has concluded. The draft is that time of the year for NFL fan bases to be eternally optimistic. Now, we must digest and pick apart the new players on their respective teams. According to Rich Hribar of Rotoworld, 49% of the players drafted this past weekend will
