We saw four quarterbacks get drafted in the 1st round of the 2020 NFL draft. While all have aspirations to be the face of their respective franchises, all have very different avenues to get there. In this article, I lay out each of these QB’s paths to their starting role, and when I expect them to make their debuts. Joe Burrow, Cincinnati Bengals While I am aware of how enamored everyone was with Ryan Finley’s three starts in Weeks 9-11 last year, there is no doubt Burrow will be the starting QB for the Bengals come Week 1. He is coming off a historic senior season at LSU. Joe threw for 5,671 yards and he broke the NCAA record for TD passes (60) as well as QB rating (202). Mike Brown and Zac Taylor didn’t draft Burrow to sit and learn, they drafted him to be the next guy right away. Joe won the starting job when Goodell announced his name at the draft. With solid weapons in Joe Mixon, A.J. Green, Tyler Boyd, and fellow rookie Tee Higgins, Joe should be a solid fantasy QB right from the get-go. The Bengals O-line is a concern, ranking 26th and 30th via FBoutsiders and PFF respectively. However, the return of 2019 1st round pick Jonah Williams will be a welcome sight.
