Ray Davis | Kentucky 5’8” 211 lbs 11/11/1999 24 yrs old
Ray Davis was drafted by the Buffalo Bills, becoming the 8th running back and 128th overall player in the 2024 NFL Draft.
COLLEGE PRODUCTION

Davis popped out on the scene early, going for 936 yards his freshman year. His senior year cemented his status as an early-round NFL prospect with 232 carries for 1,042 yards and five touchdowns. Davis is a running back declaring for the draft as a junior, which is a rare occurrence. That in and of itself should tell you how good Davis is. Kentucky worked Ray Davis early and often in his fifth-year COVID-eligible season. He had a 42.9% college dominator rating via player profiler (% of total team touchdowns and yards by a running back). He also led all prospects in yards per route run.
FILM
Before I watched any Ray Davis film, I judged Davis as more of a bruiser/goal-line running back. Just after watching one play, I knew my preconceived take was wrong. In the open field, Davis is a nightmare for opposing defenders. He is much quicker than expected and has good vision. He consistently runs behind his blockers, which springs him open for more significant runs.
ATHLETIC TESTING
At the combine, Ray Davis measured 5’ 8” and 211 lbs. He checked in with an above-average 40-yard dash time of 4.52. His three-cone time was poor at 7.13. Davis had good performances in the broad jump of 9’11″ and the vertical jump of 35”.
This led to an overall relative size-adjusted athletic score of 6.17 out of 10, which is average for the mid-round prospects in this draft class.

The Buffalo Bills selected Ray Davis with the 128th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
FANTASY INSIGHTS
I have Ray Davis ranked as this class’s number-nine running back for projected future dynasty value. He can potentially make an impact at the next level, but he shouldn’t be expected to be a day-one starter. He will be best served as a backup or a complimentary RB2.
Ray Davis should go off the board in rookie drafts in the early to mid-fourth round of dynasty rookie drafts.
