2026 NFL Draft Coverage: KC Concepcion

KC Concepcion | Texas A&M | 5’11 , 190 lbs | Sept 24, 2004 (21 years)

KC Concepcion was drafted by the Cleveland Browns, becoming the 4th wide receiver and 24th overall player in the 2026 NFL Draft.

COLLEGE PRODUCTION

KC Concepcion began his career playing for the North Carolina State Wolfpack, where he quickly showed off his talent with 71 catches for 839 yards and 10 touchdowns while also running the ball 41 times for 320 yards. It was one of the more impressive freshman seasons that we have seen in recent memory, though much of his production was manufactured closer to the line of scrimmage. He saw considerable regression in 2024 during his sophomore season, catching only 53 balls for 460 yards and 6 touchdowns in nearly an equivalent amount of games. There are some questions as to whether the offense and quarterback were simply too poor to get him the ball that season, or if he was experiencing a sophomore slump after teams had some film on him.

Concepcion bet on himself, however, and transferred to Texas A&M for his third and final season of college football. He put together arguably his best season with the Aggies and showed improvements in his skill set that were encouraging, leading up to his jump to the NFL. He caught 61 balls for 919 yards and 9 touchdowns, which led the SEC. His 15.1 Y/R was also the best of his college career.

FILM

The first thing that jumps off the screen when you turn on the tape for KC Concepcion is his natural explosive ability and knack for creating separation in the short and intermediate parts of the field. He is a friendly target for his quarterback due to the ease with which he gains separation at the break point of his routes. Between his time with NC State and Texas A&M, he showed versatility in lining up both outside and in the slot, along with out of the backfield. He is a player who you just put the ball in his hands and watch him go to work, and a creative offensive playcaller will have a field day.

His deficiencies mainly lie in his frame as he is a compact built wide receiver with a smaller catch radius. His drop rate throughout his college career is also of concern, especially with him taking a prominent role in the slot. Some of this can be explained away with inaccurate quarterback play, but he still amassed 19 drops in 3 seasons. Because of his ability to be a utility-style player, he doesn’t have a very refined route tree, but his speed and explosiveness will allow him to develop this quicker than most.

ATHLETIC TESTING

Though KC Concepcion was present at the NFL Scouting Combine, he only did measurements and did not participate in any on-field work. He has previously been clocked at around a 4.46s 40-yard dash and has impressive agility and burst scores that profile him as a similar athlete to Amon-Ra St. Brown

DRAFT ANALYSIS

Rapid Reaction to Draft Capital: Excellent

Rapid Reaction to Landing Spot: Average

The Browns have steadily been adding offensive pieces over the past two seasons that are making the offense become more intriguing by the minute. With Quinshon Judkins and Harold Fannin panning out from the 2025 NFL Draft, they now add Concepcion to the mix, and he likely will be the top receiving option for this coming season. His skill set makes him more of a secondary target-earner, so there may be some concern moving forward that they bring in a true alpha or X wide receiver. The quarterback play will also be sub-par in 2026, but he should serve as an easy target and safety blanket for whoever is the starter in Cleveland this season.

FANTASY INSIGHTS

After receiving round one draft capital on Thursday, KC Concepcion slots in as my 6th overall rookie. Based on his skill set and landing spot, I don’t believe that he has the ability to jump into the upper tier of receivers in this class, but he should provide a steady floor in PPR leagues similar to what we have seen from players like Jaylen Waddle, D.J. Moore, and Jordan Addison
