Jamari Thrash was drafted by the Cleveland Browns, becoming the 23 wide receiver and 156 overall player in the 2024 NFL Draft.
COLLEGE PRODUCTION
Jamari Thrash started his college career at Georgia State. In four years at Georgia State, he had 104 receptions for 1752 yards, averaging 16.8 yards per reception and 12 touchdowns. In 2022 he had a breakout year finishing, First Team All-Sun Belt Conference. After playing four years at Georgia State, Jamari Thrash took his show on the road to Louisville for his last year of eligibility. While at Louisville, it was no time for him to become the leading wide receiver. He had 63 receptions for 858 yards, averaging 13.6 yards per reception, while adding six touchdowns.
FILM
While watching the film on Jamari Thrash three things stood out. First was his ability to gain yards after the catch. He showed that after contact he could get more yards. His first step away from the defender shows that he has a feel for the defender’s presence when it comes to making a move to get away. Second, his route running was exceptional. His awareness of the defender’s position shows that he understands the movement he needs to make to help create separation from the defender. He shows good ball-tracking ability on his routes to get himself in the proper position to make the catch. The last thing is his playmaking ability. Several times he shows that he has the speed to create something when it seems that there is nothing there.
ATHLETIC TESTING
Jamari Thrash measured 6’0 and 188 lbs. His 40-yard dash was 4.46, which was the 20th best for the 2024 combine. The 3-cone drill was 7.16, which turned out to be the 9th best time for this combine. The combine showed that his speed is his biggest assist. He had a prospect grade of 5.91 which would have him listed as a backup wide receiver.

Jamari Thrash was selected with the 156-overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft by the Cleveland Browns.
The wide receiver room is talented, with Amari Cooper, Jerry Judy, and Elijah Moore as the starters. His work will be cut out for him to get playing time. No one stands out when you look at the bench. He should get playing time early and move into more snaps as the season progresses.
FANTASY INSIGHTS
Jamari Thrash will be a backup coming off the bench. With the wide receiver room looking like it is, I can see Thrash playing in the slot. When he gets the chance to show his play-making ability, I wouldn’t be surprised if he will start getting more playing time in the second half of the season.
Jamari Thrash should go off the board in rookie drafts in the fourth round. Worth stashing if you have room, and have the potential to step up and earn playing time.
