Jack Bech – 2025 Rookie Sleeper?

Jack Bech | WR | TCU | 2025 NFL Prospect

Here at Dynasty Football Factory, our goal is to help win you Dynasty championships. We can provide you an edge over your league mates by diving deep into the incoming rookie class, both from an analytical and a film standpoint. Hitting on a late-round rookie pick is one of the quickest and simplest ways to increase roster value, and DFF is here to point you in the right direction regarding those sleepers. Is TCU wide receiver Jack Bech one of those diamonds in the rough we should be targeting? Let’s find out together.ย

High Schoolย

Jack Bech graduated from the class of 2021, attending St. Thomas More High School in Lafayette, LA. Through his high school career, Bech accumulated over 3,000 receiving yards and 36 touchdowns, with essentially all of his production coming in the final three seasons. Bech’s junior year was his best from a production standpoint, posting 91 receptions, 1,668 yards, and 20 TDs.ย

Bech was a 4-star recruit coming out of high school, ranked as the 60th overall WR and the 10th best prospect in Louisiana, according to ESPN. He received offers from several big-name programs, including LSU, Boston College, Houston, TCU, Texas, and Mississippi State. Ultimately, Jack elected to stay in his home state and play for the Tigers of LSU.ย

LSU (2021-22)

Jack Bech came in and had himself a phenomenal true freshman season for the Tigers, finishing the year with 67 targets, 43 receptions, 489 yards, and three touchdowns. He actually led the entire team in receptions, beating out guys like Malik Nabers, Brian Thomas Jr., Trey Palmer, and Kayshon Boutte. It looks like Bech was primed to become one of the premier wide receivers in college football heading into Year 2.ย

Unfortunately, the 2022 season did not go as planned for Bech. He posted just 16 receptions, 200 yards, and one touchdown on the season, battling through a back injury for much of the year. Malik Nabers had made his Year 2 leap, true freshman Mason Taylor had emerged as a major receiving threat, and BTJ was coming into his own. The writing was on the wall for Bech at LSU, who elected to hop into the transfer portal following the 2022 season. He landed with TCU, one of the programs that had offered him a scholarship out of high school.ย

TCU (2023-24)

2023 went very similarly to 2022 for Bech, as the injury bug continued to plague him. A leg injury kept Jack sidelined for much of the season, only seeing action in eight games. He posted a modest 19 targets, 12 receptions, and 146 yards to close out his junior year. At this point, Bech’s Devy stock was dwindling to zero. But this kid wasn’t ready to wave the white flag yet. Bech bounced back in a big way in 2024, posting season bests across the board. On the year, Bech is sitting with 91 targets, 62 receptions, 1,034 yards, and nine touchdowns. He suffered an MCL injury in the final game against Cincinnati, which may sideline him for another 2+ weeks, so his bowl game status is in question. It may be wisest for him to shut it down and prepare for the NFL Draft.ย He’ll be more than ready for the Combine, so there’s no real concern.

Analytics

Looking at Bech’s 2024 advanced metrics, there are some marks to get very excited about, while others are slightly underwhelming. He has a target rate of 21.5% this season, which is decent but far from dominant. Likewise, his 2.44 yards per route run will put him in the middle of the pack for this draft class (at least for the prospects we care about in Dynasty). I like that Bech went from playing slot at LSU to playing out wide in his final season at TCU and excelled in his role. It shows his versatility as a player. By primarily playing the X this season, Bech saw his ADOT increase from less than nine all the way to 13.3.ย  Assuming Bech has played his last college game, he dropped just four passes out of 137 catchable passes. That’s a drop rate of less than 3%, which is elite. He also posted some solid career contested-catch numbers, hauling 19 of 31 for a contested-catch percentage of 61.3%.

Film

Jack Bech isn’t going to blow anyone away with his short area quickness or speed, but he is a nuanced enough route runner to where he knows how to create separation from his defenders. He developed into a deep threat this season for TCU, an area I’m not sure he’ll excel in at the NFL level. He may find more success deployed in the short-to-middle areas of the field, where he can make one cut and gain a step on his defender or find the soft spot in the zone.ย

Bech has very strong hands and generally doesn’t use his body to haul in passes unless absolutely necessary. What stands out the most in his film is his physicality. His YAC numbers won’t adequately portray this, but Bech does not shy away from contact and is pretty tough to bring down. Overall, I think Bech is a more than capable receiver who will find himself a role at the NFL level. He should be a Day 3 pick in the NFL Draft and earn a WR3 role for a team soon. If he lands in the right situation with a pass-heavy offense, he may turn into a potential flex option for our Dynasty rosters. I wouldnโ€™t reach too far on him in your rookie drafts, but Bech is a good late round flier to target. He should provide some usable weeks once he gets fully settled. ย
