Dynasty Football Factory’s 2025 NFL Draft Coverage: Jaylin Noel

Jaylin Noel | Iowa State        5’10” 194 lbs.    09/04/2002 (Age 22)

Jaylin Noel was drafted by the Houston Texans, becoming the 12th wide receiver and 79th overall player in the 2025 NFL Draft.

COLLEGE PRODUCTION

Jaylin Noel put together a solid four years of production at Iowa State, building upon each season to ultimately finish with 1194 yards in his senior year, which was good for 9th overall in D1 NCAA for 2024. He finished up his career as one of the more prolific pass catchers in Cyclones history, with 245 receptions (2nd all-time), 2,855 yards (3rd all-time), and 18 touchdowns (4th all-time). Noel is perhaps a sneak option for props such as all-purpose yards at  FanDuel Sportsbook.

Noel was named a team captain in 2023 and 2024, and his accolades include being named to the 2023 All-Big 12 Second Team and 2024 All-Big 12 Honorable Mention as a Wide Receiver. 

In addition to his solid production as a slot receiver, Noel also featured as a returner and was awarded the 2024 Big 12 Specials Teams Co-Player of the Year and was named to the 2024 All-Big 12 First Team as a Punt Returner and Kick Returner. 

FILM

Although Noel primarily lines up out of the slot, he can move around the line of scrimmage. He demonstrates quick feet and is explosive off the line of scrimmage. Able to create immediate separation, Noel is dangerous in the open field with incredible YAC ability. There are some concerns with drops, but this looks to be something that Noel cleaned up and refined as a fourth-year player.

ATHLETIC TESTING

Noel had caught some attention with a productive Senior season, but he turned heads pre-draft with his Combine measurables. Running a 4.39s forty, Noel clocked in near the top of the class in speed metrics. Where Noel shined was in his explosiveness scores, landing a 41.5” vertical and 11’2” broad jump, both good for tops in this group of Wide Receivers.

Although mid 3rd round is solid draft capital overall, it was surprising that Noel became the 12th Wide Receiver off the board behind the likes of Isaac TeSlaa and Pat Bryant. 

As far as the landing spot, Noel ends up with a Texans team that invested heavily in their offense in the 2025 draft. Noel will join fellow Iowa State running mate Jayden Higgins (2nd round, 34th overall) in the Wide Receiver that also features Nico Collins, Christian Kirk, and an injured Tank Dell. 

FANTASY INSIGHTS

DFF’s Consensus Rankings have Noel in as the 10th wide receiver in Rookie Rankings, and 24th player overall. Entering a somewhat crowded WR room, Noel will have some immediate competition for targets. Working to Noel’s benefit is his versatility to line up in the slot or outside, and his elite athletic profile should allow him to win in different ways than the other Texans pass catchers.

Noel should be available near the end of the second round or early in the third round in your Rookie Drafts and is a fair depth piece at this value. Although he may never feature as a WR1 for your dynasty squad, Noel’s college production proves that he can be a reliable pass catcher and feature even with talent around him.
