Rakim Jarrett | Maryland 6’0” 192 lbs. | 01/24/2001 (22)
Rakim Jarrett went undrafted in the 2023 NFL Draft, but he was quickly signed as a UDFA by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
COLLEGE PRODUCTION
| Year | Games Played | Receptions | Yards | Yards/Catch | TDs |
| 2020 (FR) | 4 | 17 | 252 | 14.8 | 2 |
| 2021 (SO) | 13 | 62 | 829 | 13.4 | 5 |
| 2022 (SR) | 11 | 40 | 471 | 11.8 | 3 |
After hardly seeing the field during his Freshman season at Maryland, Jarrett turned it around in 2021 as a Sophomore. He hauled in the seventh-most receptions in the Big Ten (62) and finished with the eighth-most receiving yards (829) in the conference as well. His production earned him the honor to enter the 2022 season on the Biletnikoff Award Watch List. But his production saw a decline during his Junior season. He only hauled in 40 receptions for 471 yards and three touchdowns. Although his numbers weren’t uber impressive, he showed versatility as a receiver who could line up in the slot or on the outside.
STRENGTHS
Jarrett showcases exceptional footwork, as he’s often having his way against press coverage. Can separate deep, as his topline speed is exceptional for his size. Jarrett’s run-after-the-catch ability is superb as well. Not afraid to haul in contested catches in traffic. Doesn’t shy away from contact, as he is often hard to take down.
WEAKNESSES
Outside of running deep vertical routes, Jarrett tends to struggle with separation. Didn’t run many different route types in college, which is probably due to his unrefined route-running abilities. Ball skills and drops have been a concern before, as he doesn’t always showcase the right amount of discipline or consistency.
ATHLETIC TESTING
At the NFL Combine, Jarrett measured in at 6’0” and 192 lbs. Which equates to a BMI of 26. He ran a solid 4.44 40-yard dash (81st percentile), equating to a 97.5-speed score (64th percentile). Jarrett also displayed a 121.9 burst score (53rd percentile) and a college dominator score of 21.3 percent (28th percentile).
Jarrett shows elite downfield speed and athleticism. He showcased decent leaping abilities with a 35.5” vertical and a 125” broad jump. One red flag would be his strength, as he ended up only posting 13 reps on the bench press. That was tied for last amongst the 13 wide receiver participants at the combine.

DRAFT ANALYSIS
Rapid Reaction to Landing Spot: Good
Jarrett was signed by the Buccaneers as a UDFA.
He joins Trey Palmer, as the two rookies look to carve out roles in a loaded wide receiver room that consists of Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, and Russell Gage. Although Jarrett went undrafted, he has a chance at earning a roster spot on this team. The WR5 and WR6 spots on this team are up for grabs. And as of right now, Jarrett, Deven Thompkins, and Kaylon Geiger are the only three fighting for those spots.
FANTASY INSIGHTS
There’s no need to draft an undrafted player in your rookie drafts. Jarrett has a chance at playing in 2023, but it’s hard to see how he would bring fantasy value, as he finds himself behind Evans, Godwin, Gage, and Palmer on the Buccaneers’ depth chart.
