Week 7 Start/Sits

Welcome in for our Week 7 edition of Dynasty Start/Sits. Due to injuries and the “bye-apocalypse”, we’re going to dial it back on the sits this week. Instead of the regular three, I’ll be doing two sits per position. We’ve got some great matchups on the slate, so let’s get down to business.

Starts – Quarterbacks

Jordan Love – Green Bay Packers

Vs. Denver Broncos

The Packers are coming off a bye week, and lucky them. They draw the team, giving up the third most passing yards per game to QBs. He could use it after a few rough outings, throwing five interceptions in his last two games. I’ve got Love penciled in for a bounce-back game against one of the worst defenses in the league.

Geno Smith– Seattle Seahawks

Vs. Arizona Cardinals

The Cardinals are a much better team than the consensus predicted in the preseason. However, major questions remain about their defense marks as they have given up the fourth fantasy points to QBs this season. I like this matchup for Geno and this Seahawks offense. Lock in Smith as a top-10 QB this week.

Sam Howell – Washington Commanders

Vs. New York Giants

I didn’t even notice, but Sam Howell is killing it. He has back-to-back top-10 finishes, and he’s currently sitting as the QB11 on the year. The Giants have been about as pedestrian as it gets Versus QBs this year, ranking 17th in points allowed to the position. If Howell is a legit NFL QB, he should play well in this matchup.

Jared Goff

Sits – Quarterbacks

Jared Goff — Detroit Lions

Vs. Baltimore Ravens

I’ll call it now. The Lions are going to run into a buzzsaw this weekend. Detroit based their entire identity on their interior run ability. Goff will have a hard time getting things going without it. The last time the Lions played a defense as good as the Ravens against QBs, Goff finished as the QB21. I think sitting him is the right choice this week.

Kirk Cousins– Minnesota Vikings

Vs. San Francisco 49ers

This Minnesota is not the same without Justin Jefferson. Granted, they’re still in the process of figuring things out, but they get no favors in week seven against an excellent San Francisco defense. I’ve got Cousins pegged as a sit until we see that this offense can produce good fantasy numbers without Justin Jefferson.

Brian Robinson

Starts – Running Backs

Brian Robinson– Washington Commanders

Vs. New York Giants

The Giants office has had trouble the season scoring points. I figured this would be a close game with both offenses having trouble. However, the Giants are giving up the fifth most points to running backs this season. Look for Washington to establish the run game early, with Brian Robinson being the primary benefactor.

Jerome Ford– Cleveland Browns

Vs. Indianapolis Colts

Cleveland draws a fantastic matchup for the running backs in Indianapolis. Last week was Kareem Hunt‘s first game back as a Cleveland Browns again. Hunt and Ford shared a true 50/50 split of the workload. In that split, Ford looked to be more efficient and explosive back. Both Ford and Hunt are likely usable fantasy assets this week, but I lean toward Ford due to his effectiveness

Jahmyr Gibbs— Detroit Lions

Vs. Baltimore Ravens

I’ll be straightforward: no, David Montgomery means I’m firing up Gibbs. I don’t care that he’s coming off an injury. The upside here is too high. It may not work out, but if you need a Boom game from a player, Gibbs has the potential to finish as RB1 anytime Montgomery is not playing.

Rachaad White

Sits – Running Backs

Rachaad White – Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Vs. Atlanta Falcons

White has consistently disappointed fantasy managers this season. He’s only produced more than ten fantasy points once this season. Atlanta has been tough against the run as well. It’s another low-ceiling game for White. There are plenty of better options available this week.

Zack Moss – Indianapolis Colts

Vs. Cleveland Browns

Moss had a top-10 week last week. Don’t get persuaded to start him again. The Colts are beginning to work Johnathan Taylor into gameplan more. Moss could see relegation to third-down duties, and this week could be the week.

Christian Watson

Starts – Wide Receivers

Christian Watson – Green Bay Packers

Vs. Denver Broncos

Watson is starting to work his way back after sitting out the first three games with a hamstring injury. He finished as the WR24 in week five on an 84% snap share with a struggling Jordan Love. With an extra week of rest due to a Bye, I’ve got Watson pegged for a bounce-back game against a struggling Denver team.

Curtis Samuel – Washington Commanders

Vs. New York Giants

Jahan Dotson is in the middle of a sophomore slump, and Curtis Samuel is taking full advantage of it. Samuel has produced more than 12 fantasy points in each of his last three games. He currently sits as the WR26 in Fantasy. Facing the Giants this week, Samuel will be a solid flex play for fantasy managers dealing with byes.

Jakobi Meyers— Las Vegas Raiders

Vs. Chicago Bears

Is it cheating if I had Meyers on my list last week? Oh well. I had Meyers pegged as a flex-play last week, but he decided to finish as the WR12. This week, he draws a Porous Chicago defense. Fire up Meyers in all lineups as a WR2 play.

Watchlist

Jaxon Smith-Njigba — Seattle Seahawks

Vs. Arizona Cardinals

I had to make a special watchlist play for JSN. Coming off a bye last week, JSN saw his highest snap share(72%), yards total(48), and catch total(4) of the year. These numbers aren’t eye-popping, but something to watch out for. The Seahawks could start using JSN more as the season continues. Bye weeks are hurting managers right now, and he makes for a solid desperation boom play against a mediocre Arizona defense.

Sits – Wide Receivers

Jerry Jeudy – Denver Broncos

Vs. Green Bay Packers

Look, I’m not a fan of how he went about it, but Steve Smith might’ve been right about Jeudy. He could very well be just another guy(JAG). Jeudy will likely match up with Jaire Alexander. With his recent lack of success, Juedy is better left on the bench this week.

K.J. Osborn — Minnesota Vikings

Vs. San Francisco 49ers

I didn’t think I would have to put him on the list this year, but that’s just where fantasy football takes us sometimes. Osborn isn’t exceptionally talented, and He’s facing a tough San Francisco defense. All while the Minnesota offense is reeling without Justin Jefferson. He’s best left on the bench this week.

Starts – Tight Ends

Evan Engram – Jacksonville Jaguars

Vs. New Orleans Saints

Engram started the season hit with four straight top-10 finishes. He has since cooled down, finishing outside the top-12 TEs in back-to-back weeks. However, he’s maintained a steady share of the targets, earning at least seven in every game since week one. I Follow the opportunity at this position, regardless of the opponent.

Luke Musgrave – Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Vs. Detroit Lions

Musgrave earned eight targets in week three, sustained a concussion in week four, then followed that up with seven targets in week five. The Packers had a bye in week six and play the Broncos this week. It’s an excellent opportunity for him to continue being heavily involved in this offense. He’s got plenty of touchdown upside this week.

Hunter Henry

Sits – Tight Ends

Hunter Henry— New England Patriots

Vs. Buffalo Bills

The Patriots offense is spiraling, and almost all the offensive pieces have become unusable. Henry started hot, but it seems the Patriots have phased Henry out of the game plan. He’s a firm sit for me this week and moving forward.

Tyler Higbee— Los Angeles Rams

Vs. Pittsburgh Steelers

Higbee has been the definition of a streaming option this season. He’s had three games with a top-12 TE finish and three outside of the top-24 TEs. Pittsburgh is allowing the fourth-fewest fantasy points to TEs this season. I think it’s a smart bet to bench Higbee this week.
