Welcome back, guys and gals. I want to give a quick shout-out to Ben Winkler for covering this series for me as my wife, and I welcome our second daughter into the world. Now, back to what you came for. Week 3 was the most entertaining week of the season so far for fantasy teams. Week 4 will have quite the hype to live up to.
Some weeks, I will have more or less starts and sits than others. It truly depends on how I feel about player trends and matchups. All stats and rankings in this article will be based on Half-PPR formats. We’re coming to a pivotal point in the Dynasty season. Let’s get you on the right side of your leagues with this week’s starts and sits.
Week 4 Starts โ Quarterbacks
Joe Burrow โ Cincinnati Bengals
Vs. Tennessee Titans
Surprised Burrow is even on a list? Well, so am I. Burrow hasn’t looked his best this season. Through three games, burrow has yet to post a top-15 finish. Due to his injury, the Bengals have been running most of their snaps out of the shotgun, and Tennessee has been abysmal against the pass this year. Look for Burrow to get back on track in Week 4. Who Dey!
Russell Wilson โ Denver Broncosย
Vs. Chicago Bears
This matchup is the perfect chance for Sean Payton to show he’s not washed. The Broncos should come out swinging this week after a 70-20 thrashing last week at the hands of the Miami Dolphins. Sutton looks excellent, and Jeudy should be fully healthy now. It’s a solid opportunity for a boom game for the Denver Broncos.ย
Daniel Jonesโ New York Giants
Vs. Seattle Seahawksย
Daniel Jones has left a lot of managers scratching their heads this season, but it seems like redemption week for Quarterbacks in week four. The Seahawks have given up the second most passing yards this year. The Giants’ offensive line has been a major issue this year, but the Seahawks also have one of the worst QB pressure rates in the league. This matchup should be one for Jones to get back on track. Fire him up!
Week 4 Sits โ Quarterbacks
Trevor Lawrence โ Jacksonville Jaguarsย
Vs. Atlanta Falcons
The Falcons quietly have a top-10 defense this year. They’ve given up the seventh fewest points per game. At the same time, the Jaguars are quietly underperforming this year. Trevor Lawrence hasn’t looked his best this year, and the Jags find themselves in the bottom half of the league in points per game with only 19.0. They haven’t found their stride yet, and I don’t think it gets any better this week versus the Falcons.
Dak Prescott โ Dallas Cowboys
Vs. New England Patriotsย
Dak has been extremely average, posting finishes of QB29, 17, and 18 this season. The Patriots currently rank fifth in passing yards allowed, so this could be a run-heavy affair. It’s likely best to find other options, given Prescott’s recent performances.ย
Week 4 Starts โ Running Backs
Zack Moss โ Indianapolis Colts
Vs. Los Angeles Rams
Zack Moss has been a complete workhorse for the Colts the last two weeks. Don’t overthink it. He should be starting in all formats until Johnathan Taylor returns IF he returns.ย
Javonte Williamsโ Denver Broncos
Vs. Chicago Bears
Williams looks better each week, and Chicago is a dumpster fire right now. I’m starting anybody I can against them. They’re currently allowing over 120 rushing yards per game (YPG) and 1.3 rushing touchdowns per game. The entire Denver offense is getting a bump this week. Fire him up.ย
Pittsburgh Steelers RBs
Vs. Houston Texans
Pittsburgh has been awful running the ball this year. They average 67 YPG on the ground. Luckily, they catch a break this week against the Houston Texans, who have allowed seven rushing touchdowns through three games. Look for one or even both of these RBs to get into the endzone this week.ย
Week 4 Sits โ Running Backs
Joe Mixon โ Cincinnati Bengals
Vs. Tennessee Titans
Listen, ANY running back facing the Titans is an automatic sit. The Titans give up an average of 13.0 fantasy points to RBs, which is highly inflated by Jerome Ford‘s two-touchdown performance last week. I see Mixon as being hyped touchdown-dependent this week. If you can look elsewhere, I would recommend it.
Raheem Mostertโ Miami Dolphins
Vs. Buffalo Bills
I might get a few weird looks for this one coming off a 50-point fantasy performance. That’s okay. I’m here to give you what you need, not what you want. Not only is this a terrible matchup for Mostert, but he ended up being out-touched by Achane on the ground 18 to 13. We could very well see a changing of the guard in Miami, and Achane could be the new RB1 there.ย
AJ Dillon โ Green Bay Packers
Vs. Detroit Lions
Dillon isn’t what we thought he would be. He finally got the opportunity with Aaron Jones out the last few weeks. Dillon was disappointing, putting up RB29 and RB52 finishes. I’m just about out completely. AJ Dillon isn’t a matchup sit; he’s a permanent sit until he can prove to be consistently fantasy-relevant.ย
Week 4 Starts โ Wide Receivers
Adam Thielen โ Carolina Panthers
Vs. Minnesota Vikings
There’s finally a Wide Receiver to emerge out of the Carolina Panthers, and his name is Adam Thielen. He gets another bump if Andy Dalton starts this week. Minnesota is atrocious on defense and high-powered on offense. The Panthers must put the ball in the air to keep upโlook for another possible WR1 performance from Theilen this week.ย
Tank Dell โ Houston Texans
Vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
Don’t look now, but CJ Stroud and the Houston Texans are among the highest-volume passing offenses in the NFL. They’re throwing the ball at the seventh-highest rate right now. Because of this, Tank Dell has become a hot name in fantasy circles after back-to-back top-24 games. That trend continues this week against the Steelers, who have allowed the 5th most fantasy points to WRs this season.ย
Tutu Atwellโ Los Angeles Ramsย
Vs. Indianapolis Colts
I’m just as shocked as you to have Atwell on my start list. He has yet to have 15 fantasy points or less than eight targets this year. I was skeptical about his production due to his size and late breakout. However, at this point, I’m starting to believe, at least until Cooper Kupp returns.ย
Week 4 Sits โ Wide Receivers
Zay Flowers โ Baltimore Ravens
Vs. Cleveland Browns
Zay has effectively taken over the WR1 role in Baltimore. Look for him to be featured in the article many times throughout the season. Cleveland is allowing the fewest completions and the fewest passing yards in the league. They haven’t played a quarterback who can extend plays like Lamar, but I’m still weary about putting Flowers in my lineups this week.
Christian Kirkโ Jacksonville Jaguars
Vs. Atlanta Falcons
Kirk’s two-week reign as the WR1 in Jacksonville will end this week. Atlanta is stout against the pass this year. Unfortunately, Kirk is not an Alpha prototype Wide Receiver. He’s going to have a tough time operating and commanding targets. This matchup Screams Calvin Ridley in a revenge matchup. It might be better to look elsewhere for fantasy points.
Week 4 Starts โ Tight Ends
Hunter Henry โ New England Patriots
Vs. Dallas Cowboysย
Hunter Henry is the TE3 overall this season. He had a tough go in week three, only producing a measly 2.7 points. I’m predicting a bounce-back game from Mac Jones‘s favorite target.ย
Luke Musgrave โ Green Bay Packers
Vs. Detroit Lions
The fantastic performances of Sam LaPorta are currently overshadowing Musgrave. However, He is coming off a performance where he caught six of eight targets for 49 yards. It’ll be a battle of rookie Tight Ends this week. Look for both to contribute significantly.ย
Dalton Kincaid โ Buffalo Bills
Vs. Miami Dolphins
I know we had Kincaid on this list last week. This week is different, I promise. Buffalo has to find a way to keep up with the Dolphins, who we all know can put up many points. The offensive weapons are limited for Buffalo, and Kincaid should see his highest snap percent of the year. He makes the team much more dynamic and harder to stop. I’ll call my shot on this one. Dalton WILL have a top-3 TE finish this week.ย
Week 4 Sits โ Tight Ends
Dalton Schultzโ Houston Texans
Vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
With how much passing volume the Texans offense is producing, I’m shocked I’m putting Schultz on the Sit list. He was one of my favorite TEs to draft in the offseason. Unfortunately, he just has found his footing yet in Houston. He’s seen a reduction in snap percent each game thus far and has yet to produce more than 5.4 points in a game. I imagined Shultz playing a much more significant role in this offense. However, let us fix our mistakes and move him to our bench.
Cole Kmet โ Chicago Bears
Vs. Denver Broncosย
It’s time to stop starting the Chicago Bears. It is malpractice to continue to start them until they prove they know how to get the ball to their weapons. Fields, as well as the entire offense, has been awful all season. Find any other options until further notice.ย
