Today I’m going to delve into my top-5 Dynasty Fantasy Football targets as we move into the offseason. These are prime buy targets and holds if you already own them. They won’t cost you a premium either as I’m targeting guys that will be as cheap right now as they ever will be.
Garrett Wilson (WR – NYJ)
Wilson will be the most expensive guy on this list, but he can be had at a discount as he’s underachieved this year with no names at the helm.
Aaron Rodgers makes his triumphant return in 2024 and Garrett Wilson’s value will skyrocket. Give the man any kind of QB that can get him the ball and the sky is the limit.
Wilson is a truly elite WR who just needs someone who can kind of deliver him the rock. Rodgers is very capable of being that QB for Wilson. There have been rumblings that if NYJ was a playoff contender Rodgers could have even played this season, so there should be no lingering Achilles effects for him in 2024. Invest in G Wilson now while his value is somewhat cheap.
Tyjae Spears (RB – Titans)
Spears has shown massive flashes with limited opportunities this year, averaging 4.7 YPC while rushing for 428 yards and a TD behind starter Derrick Henry. Henry is likely gone from the Titans in 2024, meaning this backfield will belong solely to the talented Spears.
Given that opportunity, his round 3 draft capital and what he’s shown in limited action thus far, I think the sky is the limit for Spears with this backfield as his own.
Often when NFL teams draft a backup RB early to play behind their starter, by the time the backup sees the field as a bell-cow, he doesn’t have much left (see Tony Pollard, Ben Tate, LaMont Jordan, etc). However, Spears is ready to usurp King Henry in 2024, with plenty of tread left on his tires.
He may not have an ACL left but the injury concerns don’t frighten me as he’s young without a lot of usage yet.
Bryce Young (QB – Panthers)
I loved Bryce Young coming out as a prospect as I had him slotted as my QB2 for Dynasty only behind CJ Stroud for this rookie class. However, since then, Young has struggled mightily. That’s why it’s the time to buy!
Young has struggled behind a horrid offensive line as he’s been running for his life all season and after Carolina dealt DJ Moore he’s been left with no one to throw to either. Adam Thielen and DJ Chark at WR1 and 2 is a disaster.
Brighter days are ahead for Young in my opinion. All the Panthers have to do is revamp their O-Line and bring in a WR or two in the draft/free agency. With a better supporting cast around and a new coach at the helm I look for Young to bounce back in a big way.
Chase Brown (RB- Bengals)
Another rookie RB with a lot of talent who could see increased opportunity in 2024 is Chase Brown of the Bengals. Joe Mixon currently sits atop the depth chart, but for how much longer? As a prospect, Chase Brown looked like a stud coming out of Illinois and I expect that Cinci backfield to be his in 2024, if not slightly thereafter.
Chase Brown can be bought right now on the cheap and would be a wise investment for anyone looking for a Bell Cow 2024 RB.
Kyren Williams (RB – Rams)
My last buy is Kyren Williams, as he’s set the league ablaze so far this season. Some worry he’ll get the Cam Akers treatment come the offseason but I simply don’t see that happening.
Williams is second in the league in rushing yards despite missing several games due to injury. All he’s done is excel when given every opportunity, and the backfield has been fully his all season long.
Unlike Cam Akers who seemed to always be in Sean McVay’s dog house, Kyren is a budding star and I think he will continue to carry his success over to 2024 and beyond.
Kyren Williams reminds me of Arian Foster as he came out of nowhere, took his backfield by storm and never let off the gas. I see a similar career trajectory for Kyren Williams moving forward.
