Troymaine Pope (RB – LAC)
Pope is a player who very few fantasy managers had on their radar. I wasn’t even familiar with him but he sure showed some explosiveness against the Broncos. Pope finished with 10 rushing attempts for 67 yards and caught five of seven targets for 28 yards. Justin Jackson led the team in carries but Pope was by far the most efficient with 6.7 yards per attempt. Pope could take over as the backup now with Josh Kelley struggling in his rookie year.
Marvin Hall (WR – DET)
Hopefully, you picked up Marvin Hall when I put him on the waiver wire article earlier this year. The good news is he’s still sitting on plenty of waivers and you have a shot at him but will have to pay the price. He caught four of seven targets for 113 yards and will replace Kenny Golladay who reports indicate could be heading to IR. Hall is a boom or bust guy but useful during a very unpredictable season.
Ross Dwelley (TE – SF)
Dwelley isn’t an exciting pick-up but a pick up nonetheless in deep dynasty leagues. He caught one of four targets for 16 yards and a touchdown after Kittle left the game early with a possible season-ending ankle injury. Dwelley instantly vaults into the starting tight end position but temper expectations with Jimmy Garoppolo also seemingly headed to the IR.
D’Onta Foreman (RB – TEN)
I had to make sure someone didn’t spike my drink when I witnessed Foreman running the ball for an NFL franchise this past weekend. Foreman was a fantasy darling years ago before suffering a devastating knee injury as a Houston Texan. He’s now back up to Derrick Henry but got some run in Week 8 against the Bengals. He took five carries for 37 yards and looked healthy for the first time in years. This is the longest of shots but a guy with a pedigree on a run-first team.
Auden Tate (WR – CIN)
I’ve seen Tate hit the waiver wire in a ton of dynasty leagues but he’s a young, talented player who has shown promise, even before Joe Burrow came to town. Tate caught all seven targets for 65 yards in Week 8 and is someone I think is worth stashing, especially considering A.J. Green has one foot out the door and John Ross apparently retired.
