IDP Crystal Ball: Week 4

In this weekly article, we will take a look at a couple of IDP players available in many leagues that appear to show promise or have a foreseeable path to time on the field and production. The hope is that you can acquire these players for free or relatively close to free. It depends on the depth and settings of each individual league. Qualifying players are those available in at least two-thirds of full IDP leagues on MyFantasyLeague.com (MFL).

2020 IDP Wrap Up: Safeties

We learned that tackles are king at safety! The top five finishers in IDP scoring at safety all finished with more than 100 total tackles each through week 16. The top five stars of the safety position included Jordan Poyer, Budda Baker, Jessie Bates, Jeremy Chinn, and Adrian Phillips. Of those finishers, three are under the age of 26, and amazingly, Jeremy Chinn was able to crack the top five as a rookie. Chinn looks primed for another excellent year of production in 2021, so if you roster the Carolina safety, you are looking fine.

Dynasty Chef Steve's My Guys

Dynasty Chef Steve’s My Guys

I want to start this article by saying I’m not much of a ranker. I admire all the hard work you guys put into your rankings. You guys are amazing! Now I want to highlight some players from the redraft rankings put out by my fellow IDP writer and ranker on Dynasty Football Factory, Tripp Brebner, these guys are ranked outside of the top twelve by Tripp and I believe will outperform their ranking.

Gerald Everett: 2020 Dynasty Profile

While the majority of this profile has been gloomy, Everett is actually my favorite buy-low option at TE in dynasty leagues. The Rams will be facing a number of financial decisions with wide receivers Cooper Kupp and Josh Reynolds, cornerback Jalen Ramsey, safety John Johnson, and Everett all entering the final season of their rookie contracts. The Rams could explore moving Everett in a deal before the trade deadline in an attempt to bolster their pass rush or improve their offensive line.

Jacks of All Trades Trump the Field: 2020 Safety Ranks

Seasonal (redraft) ranks will appear in article form this year at Dynasty Football Factory. The IDP ranks in spreadsheet form are and will remain for a dynasty format. I’ll update the dynasty ranks year-round, thus making available a rare resource for IDP gamers. I, myself, was always on the hunt for current dynasty ranks for start-up and dispersal drafts for IDP leagues before I started writing. Here are my 2020 Safety ranks, dominated by “jack of all trades” type players!

Schemes Are Ch-Ch-Changing: The Rams Are Sputtering!

The Los Angeles Rams felt the hangover of a Super Bowl loss in 2019, missing the playoffs with a 9-7 record. They finished 7th in total offense (yards gained) and 13th in total defense. The analytics firm Football Outsiders ranked the 2019 Rams defense 9th. This defense improved significantly over the 2018 version in both metrics while the offense regressed year over year.

2020 Enticing IDP Strength of Schedules

In this series, we analyze the IDP strength-of-schedule for the 2020 NFL season. In IDP fantasy football, opportunity correlates to production, so today we’ll focus on pace-of-play / plays-per-game that a few lucky defenses will face (based on 2019 data). Let’s take a look at the defenses and IDP defenders who could benefit from their schedule.
