Dynasty Sleeper of the Week: Jaelon Darden

As the season progresses your, typical dynasty sleeper may come fewer and farther between as we want a long-term return in our year-long format and the waiver wire isn’t just littered with these players. Otherwise, I wouldn’t need to write this. Nevertheless, there are certainly sleepers who may be rostered but quickly forgotten due to lack of production and opportunity or roster depth and youth. This edition of dynasty sleeper of the week features a young wide receiver who likely falls into this category depending on league size and roster settings.

DFF Draft Coverage: Jaelon Darden to the Buccaneers

Jaelon Darden is one of your annual small-school stories where an incredible athlete, who was overlooked by large programs, emerges. Darden was a high school QB, so he possesses basic knowledge about reading coverages and finding openings in the defense. He played in all 14 games as a backup WR during his true freshman season compiling 281 yards and three TDs on 32 receptions, while also contributing as a punt and kick returner. While he still returned punts, Darden focused on offense as a sophomore, hauling in 48 receptions for 575 yards and four TDs.

Draft Stock Watch: Week 7

Each week I will bring you the latest updates and NFL buzz surrounding college players that should prove to be integral to future fantasy success. I will utilize recent statistics, performance and film, and general “front office whispers” to compile the intel I share with you. My hope is to provide you with a leg up on your opponents. You will know which devy players to target in trades and/or in what range of draft picks (both NFL and fantasy drafts) you can expect these players to be selected. If you want to read last week’s article, click here. Week 7 of the college football season saw five more ranked opponents take an “L”. I think we can definitively say that SEC defense is a thing of the past now after watching all of these high scoring affairs. The BIG10 conference will finally be joining the season looking ahead in Week Eight, but for now, we will examine this past weekend’s player performances and draft stocks.

Compared to the previous two weeks, Week Six of the college football season played out relatively similar to what fans expected. There were many unexpected shootouts in the SEC this week, which is unique. However, outside of #21 Texas A&M taking down #4 Florida and an unranked Mizzou team upsetting #17 LSU, the week seemed status quo. We again will discuss some of this past weekend’s player performances and draft stock movement!
