Hello all! Rejoice, for Super Bowl Sunday is finally upon us! I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for a weekend filled with wings, beer, and throwing money on some of the most ridiculous prop bets you’ll see all year. With a whopping $7 BILLION estimated to be wagered on this event, I’d say many share my sentiments as well!
With that said, here are some of my favorite bets that I’ve seen and the stats (or lack thereof) to back them up. Full disclosure, some of these are just silly so take them for what they’re worth. Regardless, enjoy!!

Coin Flip – Heads (-103)
Look, it’s a coin flip. You can’t get much more even than this, right?
Well…if you believe in trends, the coin has landed Heads in 9 of the past 14 Super Bowls (64%). Of course, I’m usually a subscriber to the “Tails Never Fails” mantra, but even I’m getting the feeling that this year is different. Plus, the statistics are clearly in Heads’ favor!
But really…it’s a coin flip. Go with your gut.
Gatorade Bath – Clear/Water (+700)
Purple is the favorite at (+110) with perennial contender Yellow/Green at (+375). According to OddsShark.com, the past five baths have been Blue, Yellow, None, Orange, and Blue. Sure, Clear hasn’t happened since Super Bowl 42, but it hit four years in a row prior to that. Plus, you’re telling me I get TWO DIFFERENT drink options at better odds?! Sign me up for Clear/Water baby!
National Anthem – Over 1:52
Singer Demi Lovato will be performing the National Anthem at this year’s Super Bowl and the over/under on her performance time has been set at 1:52 or 112 seconds. NJ.com did a great piece on past Super Bowl singers and past Demi performances so I encourage you to give it a read!
However, to sum it up, Demi has performed the National Anthem on big stages before, most recently in 2017 for the McGregor vs. Mayweather fight. That time she took 2:11. She also sang at three MLB World Series games in the 2010’s (feels weird typing that) and in the last one in 2015 she finished at 1:58. Here’s that performance.
I will advise caution, as the over/under was set at 2:03 until the line recently plummeted. Still, given her past performances, I could easily see her eclipsing 1:52 and finishing close to the 2:00 mark. Give me the over on 1:52, but if it goes any higher I’d start going the other way.
Total Players to Attempt a Pass – Over 2.5 (+124)
Okay, so it’s true that Patrick Mahomes and Jimmy Garoppolo have been the only players to attempt a pass for their respective teams this postseason, but c’mon…
You’re telling me you DON’T want to see this happen again?! Where’s the fun in that?!
Terrell Suggs to Retire Before 2/10 – Yes (+150)
If you’ll allow me to briefly put aside the humor, as a Ravens fan, Terrell Suggs was an absolute pleasure to watch for the past decade or so that I’ve paid attention to pro sports. He’ll always be one of my favorites, and as such I’m only taking this bet in the hopes that the Chiefs come out on top and he gets to ride off into the sunset like the legend he is. He deserves it.
Kansas City Chiefs -1.5 (-110)
Biscuits is a traitor. Don’t listen to her. Go Chiefs!
