Redrafting the 2023 Rookie Class Series Part 3

With the 2023 NFL season wrapped up and the Super Bowl in the rearview mirror, it’s time to revisit the rookie class and conduct a redraft based on their performances. In this three-round rookie redraft series, we’ll analyze the impact, development, and surprises of the 2023 NFL Rookies in a 12-team Superflex format. You can check out Part 1 here and Part 2 here, covering my first and second-round picks. Now, let’s take a look at picks 25-36!

Round 3

  1. Trey Palmer (WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers) – FPPG: 5.79, GP: 16

Palmer faced tough competition in a star-studded receiver corps during his rookie year, limiting his opportunities. However, if Mike Evans departs, Palmer’s fantasy stock could soar as he steps into a potentially expanded role.

  1. Tre Tucker (WR, Las Vegas Raiders) – FPPG: 3.85, GP: 15

Tucker’s performance was hindered by inconsistent quarterback play and stiff competition in the receiving corps, especially with Davante Adams leading the pack. Should the Raiders make changes, his fantasy outlook hinges on potential chemistry with a new quarterback.

jalin hyatt

  1. Jalin Hyatt (WR, New York Giants) – FPPG: 3.67, GP: 16

Despite a forgettable season for the Giants, Hyatt presents promise for the future. With Daniel Jones returning, Hyatt could seize the opportunity to establish himself as the team’s primary target, offering hope for fantasy managers.

  1. Aidan O’Connell (QB, Las Vegas Raiders) – FPPG: 11.50, GP: 10

The Raiders’ draft decisions, particularly regarding a quarterback, will significantly impact O’Connell’s fantasy prospects. If the team opts not to select a QB, O’Connell can secure the starting role, presenting a rare opportunity for fantasy relevance.

  1. Quentin Johnston (WR, Los Angeles Chargers) – FPPG: 5.61, GP: 16

Johnston endured a challenging rookie season but has the potential to rebound, especially with the opportunity to develop chemistry with standout quarterback Justin Herbert.

  1. Dontayvion Wicks (WR, Green Bay Packers) – FPPG: 6.83, GP: 14

Despite limited playing time in a crowded receiving corps, Wicks showcased promise, making him an appealing dynasty stash. His ability to produce in a talented group hints at a significant upside for fantasy managers willing to invest in his potential.

at perry

  1. A.T. Perry (WR, New Orleans Saints) – FPPG: 6.06, GP: 10

Perry displayed potential as a reliable secondary receiver alongside Chris Olave in the absence of Michael Thomas. With ample opportunity ahead, Perry could emerge as a sneaky fantasy asset in the upcoming season.

  1. Keaton Mitchell (RB, Baltimore Ravens) – FPPG: 8.74, GP: 8

Mitchell impressed as an undrafted rookie before suffering a season-ending ACL injury. While his recovery may delay his return to the field, Mitchell’s talent and promising rookie performance make him a player worth monitoring closely in dynasty leagues.

  1. Demario Douglas (WR, New England Patriots) – FPPG: 7.99, GP: 13

Despite the Patriots’ struggles in 2023, Douglas shone as a bright spot with his impressive rookie performance. If the team secures a franchise quarterback in the upcoming draft, Douglas could see increased opportunities and emerge as a valuable fantasy asset in 2024.

marvin mims

  1. Marvin Mims (WR, Denver Broncos) – FPPG: 4.42, GP: 16

Mims faced challenges in a volatile passing offense, limiting his opportunities to showcase his skills. Despite flashes of potential, Mims’ fantasy value remains uncertain heading into the next season.

  1. Jonathan Mingo (WR, Carolina Panthers) – FPPG: 5.65, GP: 15

Mingo’s rookie season fell short of expectations, but the potential for improvement lies in his opportunity to develop chemistry with quarterback Bryce Young. A rebound season could be on the horizon for Mingo in 2024.

  1. Cedric Tillman (WR, Cleveland Browns) – FPPG: 3.18, GP: 14

Tillman faced limited opportunities in his rookie year but could emerge as a late bloomer in the NFL. With teammates Amari Cooper and Elijah Moore entering free agency in 2025, Tillman’s path to a larger role in the Browns’ offense could become clearer, making him a valuable stash in dynasty leagues.
