Redraft: Week 18 Streamers

If you have one final matchup here in Week 18, enjoy it. Most leagues have already finished, but if your league decided to extend the championship round to this week, you need to capitalize on some streaming options. Let’s win this final matchup together. As always, we will provide the best weekly options to stream at quarterback, tight end, and D/ST. Keep in mind, each streaming option will be below 50% owned, according to ESPN leagues.

It’s difficult to take chances when a title is on the line. Hill may be the safest streaming option this week at the quarterback position. He’s averaging just over 18 points per game in his four starts as New Orleans’ signal-caller this season. During that same stretch, he has produced 252 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns. He’s got a “juicy” matchup this week against a Falcons defense that’s been tortured by fantasy quarterbacks this year. Atlanta has allowed the third-most fantasy points to quarterbacks through 17 weeks. They’ve also surrendered at least 20 fantasy points seven times this season. If you can get around 20 fantasy points from a streaming option, you will set yourself up for success. Remember, there is no room for error this week. If you need to stream a quarterback, Hill is probably your best option.

Lance played like a rookie last week. He looked good at times, and he made a decent amount of mistakes. But in the fantasy football world, he was serviceable. You can’t ask for much more from a player who was making his second career start. You also can’t ask for much more from a streaming option. Just over 19 fantasy points are what you should be aiming for this week again for Lance. The only reason why he isn’t the top streaming quarterback option of the week is because of his matchup. The rookie signal-caller will make his third career start against a stingy Rams defense that is looking to secure the NFC West division with a win on Sunday. Los Angeles gives up the seventh-fewest fantasy points to the quarterback position this season. But if you can stream a quarterback who can generate a decent amount of fantasy points with his legs, it’s hard to pass him up. Lance produced 31 yards on eight carries a week ago. We’ve seen him generate a combined 130 rushing yards and a touchdown in a two-week stretch before (Weeks 4 and 5). If you can’t find Hill in your free agencies this week, pick up and start Lance if you need to stream the quarterback position.

As mentioned above, there is no room for error this week. If you have a reliable tight end, avoid streaming the position in your most important matchup of the year. Tight ends are the hardest position to stream in fantasy football. However, if you NEED to stream the position, Cook may be the safest option for you this week. He’s averaging just over eight PPR points per game this season. If you can squeeze a little more out of him here in Week 18, you should be satisfied. Cook will line up across a Raiders team this week that he dominated in Week 4 (his best performance of the season). He hauled in six of his seven targets for 70 yards and one touchdown. If he clears COVID-19 protocols, expect another good performance, as Las Vegas allows the fourth-most fantasy points to tight ends this season. Justin Hebert and the Chargers NEED a win to get in the playoffs. Expect them to attack the Raiders’ weakness (covering tight ends), and expect a big week from Cook if he’s available.

He’s on here almost every week. Not because he’s been producing great numbers, but because he does enough to stay relevant. There are so many inconsistent tight ends this season. Dawson Knox produced a giant goose egg this past week. Mike Gesicki hauled in zero receptions in a game earlier in the season. George Kittle has produced less than five fantasy points in two straight weeks. FANTASY TIGHT ENDS ARE WEIRD LIKE THAT. Cole Kmet, on the other hand, doesn’t give you zero fantasy points in a week. In fact, he’s drawn in at least five targets in six straight games. It doesn’t matter who lines up under center for Chicago, Kmet is targeted throughout each game on a consistent basis. Here’s the problem. He has yet to score a touchdown this season. I bring it up every time he’s featured in this series, there’s no way he finishes with zero touchdowns this season right? I guess he just may. With the playoffs out of sight for Chicago, look for the Bears to find a way to get Kmet his first touchdown this Sunday.

Kansas City’s defense has generated the second-most fantasy points since Week 11. During that span, they’ve been averaging just over 12 fantasy points per game. The Chargers and Bengals got the best of them during that six-game stretch, but they take on a Broncos team this week that struggles to score points. During their Week 13 matchup against Denver, the Chiefs produced 13 fantasy points. During the past three weeks, the Broncos have allowed a little over nine fantasy points per game to opposing defenses. With the top seed in the AFC on the line, expect the Chiefs to put together a dominating performance both on offense and defense. If you need to stream the D/ST position, Kansas City should be your top streaming option, along with the defense listed below.

Yes, Washington has been AWFUL during their four-game losing streak. Yes, their defense has been a big reason why. BUT they take on a Giants team that looks like the worst team in the league right now. The Chicago Bears had been playing poorly before their matchup against the Giants this past Sunday. Their defense hadn’t generated double-digit points since Week 9 against the Steelers. They then put together a 21-point fantasy performance where they produced four sacks, two interceptions, two fumbles, and a safety. Trust Washington this weekend. In three straight weeks, team defenses have scored at least 16 fantasy points against the Giants. During that same three-week span, the Giants have allowed a combined seven sacks, seven interceptions, three fumble recoveries, one safety, one defensive touchdown, and 53 fantasy points. If that doesn’t convince you, I don’t know what will.

This may be the “deepest stream” of the season. Why not go out with a BANG? Only take my advice here if you are in a desperate situation, or if you play in a very deep league. JOHN BATES IS A DECENT STREAMING OPTION THIS WEEK. The rookie takes over TE1 duties for Washington with Logan Thomas and Ricky Seals-Jones out this Sunday. During his past two matchups, serving mostly as a back-up, Bates has produced a combined five receptions for 80 yards and a touchdown. With Thomas, Seals-Jones, and possibly both Antonio Gibson and JD McKissic out this week, Bates could turn in a very solid performance against the Giants. Keep in mind, Terry McLaurin has been in a slump as well. New York has been solid defending tight ends this season, but with the lack of options for Taylor Heinicke and the Washington Football Team, Bates may reverse the narrative. It’s hard to trust a rookie tight end making his first career start. But with desperate times come desperate measures. If Bates produces in a big way, I don’t think there could have been a better ending to this series.

That’s a wrap. Not everyone can win a championship, but we can all enjoy fantasy football together. For those of you who earned yourself a title this season, congratulations. For those of you who fell short, let’s start prepping now for next season. Thanks for sticking with me the entire year, and we will be back with another “streamers” series next season. It will be improved and more accurate (fingers crossed). Enjoy the NFL Playoffs, offseason, and draft season. Make sure to continue checking into our website, as we will provide fantasy content no matter what time of the year it is.
