Jake Luton,Oregon St., QB

Height – 6’6”    Weight – 224 lbs.   Hand Size -10.4”

With the 10th pick in the sixth round of the 2020 NFL Draft, Luton out of Oregon St. He won’t be more than insurance for Minshew with Foles departure this offseason.

A late riser, Luton offers a decent developmental QB who showed progress from his junior to senior season. He shouldn’t see the field right away, but offers depth at an important position in the NFL and was expected to go on day three of the draft after having a decent senior season with the Beavers.

Luton did post low interception totals, but never more than three thousand yards or 30 touchdowns in the NCAA. No NFL team will trust him starting right away and neither should you for your dynasty teams. Low completion ratings and underwhelming stats for a sixth-round QB don’t often find relevance in the NFL and Jags don’t expect much seeing that they’re enamored with Minshew.

Luton offers an above-average arm, but at the next level it won’t be enough to start for the Jags, and I expect them to use him as a safety blanket for Minshew. Don’t take him until the fifth round of your rookie drafts, and there may be other better options for your taxi squad slot.
