IDP Stock Market Weekly

Hot Stock

S, Kevin Byard, Tennessee Titans

No player is hotter right now than Kevin Byard. I have been saying since last year that Byard is a name to own in the IDP world. Over the last three weeks, with a bye sandwiched in the middle, Byard’s play has been phenomenal. He has been a ballhawk with FIVE interceptions in the last two games to go along with eight tackles. Byard’s stock is rising faster than any other defensive player’s. He should be owned in all leagues, no matter the format.  Investment Rating (5)

DE, Dwight Freeney, Seattle Seahawks

It’s not often a player comes out of retirement and is productive, but Freeney has been just that so far in his return. He doesn’t offer much in the form of tackles, but he has recorded three sacks. If your league scores sacks heavily and you need a decent bye-week fill-in, then pick up Freeney off waivers.  Investment Rating (3)

DT, Nazair Jones, Seattle Seahawks

Defensive tackle is a position that is hard to get consistent production from, even more so when counting on a rookie, but Nazair has been playing solidly over the last few weeks. In the past three games, he has recorded nine tackles and 1.5 sacks. If your league requires you to start a DT, then he is a nice waiver add and bye-week fill in. His long-term value is rising, and he should be owned in dynasty leagues. Investment Rating (3)

DE, Leger Douzable, San Francisco 49ers

If you read waiver adds earlier this week then you would have seen that I have Douzable as a player to add. He has recorded 12 tackles and two sacks in the last two games and has a favorable matchup versus the NY Giants this week. He should be owned in most leagues, and his stock is beginning to climb for dynasty leagues. Grab him now if he’s still available. Investment Rating (3)

Liquidate / Sell

CB, Kenny Vaccaro, New Orleans Saints

Vaccaro suffered a groin injury versus the Buccaneers and has been ruled out for week 10. Groin injuries are a bit risky and can linger if not fully healed. His immediate value takes a hit, but he still has value in dynasty leagues, especially if you can place him on IR. If you play in redraft leagues, you can drop him. Liquidation Rating (3)

DE, Ziggy Ansah, Detroit Lions

It’s been a disappointing season for Ansah and will not be getting any better, at least for another week. He has been ruled out for week 10 with a back injury, although he has not been playing well anyway. Ansah has only one total sack since his three-sack game in week two. He is droppable or can be put on IR. Liquidation Rating (4)

LB, B.J. Goodson, New York Giants

An ultra-talented LB, Goodson just can’t stay healthy this year. He has been ruled out again for week 10. Until he remains healthy, you can either drop him or place him on IR. Sunday will be the fourth game he has missed this season. He just isn’t a reliable play right now. Liquidation Rating (5)
