IDP Stock Market Weekly Week 9 Edition

We’re at the halfway point for a lot of fantasy leagues, and this is a critical time, as owners are making moves to position their team for a championship run or looking towards next season. Here are a few players that you should be looking at buying or selling. I wish everyone the best of luck and may you this be the beginning of your quest for the championship!

Hot Stock

DT, Aaron Donald, Los Angeles Rams

After getting off to a slow start, to begin the season, Donald has been one of the most dominant defensive players overall in the NFL and fantasy, ever since. He’s been on such a hot streak, that he’s a must-start in all leagues, including those that only use the common DL position. He has ten sacks in the last five games and had an outstanding four in one game versus the San Francisco 49ers. Donald is the type of player that can carry you to and win you a championship.  Investment Rating (5)

DT, Kenny Clark, Green Bay Packers

Defensive tackles generally don’t make a lot of scoring plays in fantasy, so when you can find one that does, it’s a huge advantage for you. Clark is one that does and has been on a roll in his last two games, with twelve tackles and three sacks. That’s big numbers for a defensive tackle, and he’ll have a favorable matchup versus the New England Patriots. If you are required to start a defensive tackle, then he’s one of the top fantasy options right now. Investment Rating (4)

LB, Corey Littleton[/profiler/, Los Angeles Rams

Littleton has been a little hit or miss this season, but the last two weeks, he’s been a consistent top play. He has recorded eighteen tackles and two sacks over these past two games and seems to be the linebacker to own for the Rams, for now. He benefits greatly from having such a dominating defensive line in front of him to eat up blocks. He should see plenty of tackle opportunities against the New Orleans Saints. Investment Rating (4)

S, [profiler]Tyrann Matheiu, Houston Texans

The Honey Badger finally seems to be fitting into his new surroundings in Houston. He had been playing well this season but in the last two weeks has added the blitzing element to his game. He’s recorded a sack in consecutive games to go with his six tackle average. I also love the schedule ahead for him and the Texans, as he should be in line to be one of the better plays in the second half of the season. I would make offers for him now, while his value is somewhat affordable. Investment Rating (4)

Liquidate / Sell

LB, Darron Lee, New York Jets

Lee had been having a solid season, averaging just over six tackles a game, but over the last two games, he has only managed six total. He will be facing a Miami Dolphins team that he recorded just four tackles against, earlier this season and three of those were assisted. There are much better options available right now, and Lee can be benched or dropped depending on your roster size. Liquidation Rating (3)

LB, Za’Darius Smith, Baltimore Ravens

Smith had been one of the better surprises for fantasy owners this season. Through the first six games of the season, he had recorded twenty tackles and five and a half sacks. Since then, he has disappeared, with only four tackles total in the last two games. He should be benched or dropped until he starts performing again Liquidation Rating (3)

DT, Da’Shawn Hand, Detroit Lions

Hand had been having a terrific rookie season, but over the last couple weeks, he has cooled off considerably. Is that due to him hitting the rookie wall or because the Lions traded for veteran Jonathan Hankins and that has cut into his playmaking? I think it’s a bit of both and he should be placed on the bench until he gets back on track. Liquidation Rating (2)
