IDP Stock Market Weekly: Week 13 Edition

Hot Stock

LB, Terrell Suggs, Baltimore Ravens

Over the last two weeks, Suggs has been a sack machine, with four in that span. He is a must own for those who play in leagues that score sacks heavy. He also has six tackles and two forced fumbles in that span. I expect him to have another big game this week versus the Detroit Lions. Amazingly he is only owned in 10% of Yahoo leagues and should be owned in all formats. Investment Rating (5)

Investments

CB, EJ Gaines, Buffalo Bills

A great addition to your fantasy team’s portfolio if your league scores tackles heavily. Since he returned two weeks ago from injury, he’s totaled seventeen tackles in those two games. He will get plenty of work in week 13 versus the Patriots but should continue to be a hot play in IDP. He’s currently rostered in only 2% of Yahoo leagues, so pick him up. Investment Rating (4)

S, Patrick Chung, New England Patriots

Chung has been playing extremely well the last two weeks, as he’s recorded nineteen tackles and two fumble recoveries. He will have a nice matchup versus the Bills this week and should have another big tackle game. One of the best plays at the safety position, outside of the big three (Jones, Collins & Bell). He is only owned in 7% of Yahoo leagues. Investment Rating (5)

LB, Reggie Ragland, Kansas City Chiefs

Here is a gem that most fantasy owners had forgotten about, but Ragland’s stock is climbing after he was traded from the Bills to the Chiefs. Since coming off a bye in week 10, he’s recorded eighteen tackles over the past two weeks. He could be the guy that makes Derrick Johnson obsolete. He’s been a nice fit in the Chiefs defense so far, and I see no reason that shouldn’t continue. A great buy-low investment, as he is only owned in 1% of Yahoo leagues. If you’re playing in a dynasty league, this is a great cheap stock that will provide a big return, for numbers of years to come. Investment Rating (5)

Liquidate / Sell

DE, Alex Okafor, New Orleans Saints

Okafor was having a terrific season for the Saints until he tore his Achilles, versus the Redskins, ending his season. Feel free to drop him in redraft leagues or place him on injured reserve in dynasty. You may also try packaging him in a deal to bring you back a better piece if you can find a trade partner. Liquidation Rating (4)

DT, Domata Peko, Denver Broncos

This is a tough loss, at a critical time of the season, for those of you who are required to start a defensive tackle. He sprained his MCL last week and is expected to miss a couple of weeks. Should be back for the fantasy playoffs. Liquidation Rating (3)

LB, Telvin Smith, Jacksonville Jaguars

A huge loss for fantasy owners, as Telvin left last week’s game versus the Cardinals with a concussion. As we all know concussions vary from player to player and are tricky to project how long one will be out. Smith is an elite player, so stash him away on IR or your bench if you have room, until he is cleared to return. Liquidation Rating (2)
