Dynasty Analysis
This article is meant to be a quick recap of news from the last week, thoughts going into each week’s games, and notes on injuries.
Welcome to the IDP Nation Podcast, the Factory Sports Network’s IDP-centric show. We’ve got you covered from your LB1 to your taxi squad.
Given the number of injuries that happened this past week, I think every position has room for trades this week. That won’t always be the case, because hardly anybody trades quarterbacks, and tight ends aren’t deep enough to justify trading one away. Regardless, these are the players that I would target for trades this week, whether your team has injury concerns or not.

It looks like the team over at Yahoo Daily Fantasy Sports resisted rolling out mass multi-entry products for as long as they could, as three weeks into the NFL season they now have 125 max and 150 max entry limits in their two biggest contests. We should assume some sort of shift in their marketing strategy is coming, as well as CSV-upload capability, relatively soon. It likely signals the end of the 10 entry maximum era there, and it will be interesting to see if targeting the high dollar mass multi-entry market can elevate them to the level of FanDuel and DraftKings eventually.
Terry McLaurin’s dynasty stock has been shooting up for the past two weeks. Log in to find out if he is a fluke or the real deal in our nation’s capital.
Hello IDP Nation, we now have two weeks in the books and there are a few players who have caused fantasy owners to begin to panic. The questions range from is this just a slow start? Will they bounce back? Should I cut or trade said player? What’s wrong with him? Why isn’t he producing and so on and so on? So let’s get started and look at a few players that have concerned owners the most.
It’s week three of the NFL season. Where does the time go? We have three weeks of data, and that makes it a bit easier when touting specific players since we have hard data to point to. Let’s take a look at this week’s touts for the Main Slate GPP Tournament plays on DraftKings this week.
Two weeks have come and gone in the NFL, and they have been a couple of brutal ones for starting quarterbacks. Between the injuries of Nick Foles, Sam Darnold, Drew Brees, Ben Roethlisberger, and Cam Newton, the quarterback landscape, in just two weeks, has drastically changed. Now the question is, how will that affect the surrounding players in those offenses? Whether you’re playing in season-long or DFS, you’ll have to adjust your regular strategies and find new ways to win.Today, I’m going to help you out on the DFS side of things by breaking down my top Fanduel plays of Week 3.
Film matters. Analytics matter. College production matters. Draft capital and landing spot matter. The debate about which variable is most important or best at predicting future NFL and fantasy success will rage on. However, at the intersection of every variable we use and every lens through which we look to evaluate a prospect sits an individual, unique player. It doesn’t matter how predictive we think our research is. At the end of the day, a rookie and his coaching staff still have to go out and get the job done. When evaluating the long term dynasty potential of a rookie wide receiver, we have to work with what we have. Anyone who tells you they have all the answers is selling you something. However, certain historical trends, film analysis, and other variables can give us a glimpse into what is possible. As I attempt to breakdown the dynasty outlook of Marquise Brown, keep a few things in mind: we only know what we know. He has extremely limited professional experience and much of what will be covered is speculation that is, however, rooted in research. Will he do enough to provide fantasy relevance this year or in the future?
Week three of “Thursday Night Kick-off” starts with a defensive divisional matchup. The Jacksonville Jaguars will host the Tennessee Titans. With both teams coming off a loss, a win is needed to get back on track. This makes for a great game to start your daily fantasy week off with and is located under the classic section of Draft Kings. This is game one out of 16 total scheduled games this week, so it’s imperative to get a great start so you can finish strong on Sunday. So let’s hunker down and see what fantasy gold we can add to our team this week to put us in the “Green”.
Each week I will recap the top performances by this year’s rookie defenders. Some are well-known names and others come out of nowhere. Rookies are highly coveted in the dynasty community, but their value can be very volatile at times. In this series each week, we’ll look at their numbers and what impact they have. I am also including their snap counts and percentage of snaps. These snap counts can tell us a lot about how much a player is being used and the opportunities they have to make plays. I like to target rookies that play 80% plus of the team’s defensive snaps. Let’s jump right into this week’s group.
I will provide analysis on three bets that I feel have the best chance at netting you a nice payday. Whether it be due to matchups, injuries, or other factors, these are the three bets I feel the most confident in placing.
“Not bad for a running back”. That post-game quote from Lamar Jackson summed up the Ravens’ decimation of the Dolphins in Week 1. The new-look Ravens offense hung 59 points on the hapless Fins (42 by halftime) which afforded Lamar Jackson an early exit during the fourth quarter. After winning the division by finishing the 2018 season on a 6-1 record with Jackson at QB, the Ravens essentially rebuilt their offense around their new signal-caller. They drafted two wide receivers and a running back, brought over veteran free agent Mark Ingram, and turned the keys over to Lamar Jackson. The early returns look promising.
Rather than doing a full, 5,000-word snap count thread every week, we’re going to simplify things a little bit. You don’t need me to tell you Bobby Wagner is playing 100% of snaps every week. So we’re just going to hit on the important numbers and any trends we’re starting to see.
Baltimore Ravens
1 – Total tackles between Baltimore’s Chris Board and Kenny Young combined. Board was on the field for 15 snaps while Young played 17 snaps.

We got you covered once again with some off-the-grid targets heading into Week 3 of the NFL regular season.
It’s been two weeks since the NFL and Fantasy Football seasons started. The season has begun with several players having unbelievable performances. While everyone was panicking about their early-round draft picks, I noted that the week one performances could have been a fluke. This went for many of the week’s top performances as well as […]
Every week this series will attempt to bring clarity to the goings-on, both on and off the field within each NFL Division so that dynasty owners can make championship level decisions based on our actionable information. Our writers will be digging through data and film for inference on coach/front office decision making so that they can keep you equipped with the “nuggets” you need to succeed. Here we bring you the AFC East.
Rather than doing a full, 5,000-word snap count thread every week, we’re going to simplify things a little bit. You don’t need me to tell you Bobby Wagner is playing 100% of snaps every week. So we’re just going to hit on the important numbers and any trends we’re starting to see.Arizona Cardinals1,336 – Snap pace for Jordan Hicks and DJ Swearinger. Expecting 16 games from Hicks is a mistake and the pace will slow down without more OT games. Antoine Bethea led the Cardinals with 1,111 snaps last season. Typically there are a few players who top 1,100 snaps every season. Hicks and Swearinger being on pace for 1,300 snaps, would mean they would play almost four more games’ worth of snaps than the typical highest seasonal snap total.
With news of Ben Roethlisberger being done for the season with an elbow injury, likely requiring Tommy John surgery how does that affect the Steelers fantasy assets. Before we go into what this means for young Mason Rudolph, we are best served to look at when we can reasonably expect Roethlisberger to be out for, and if we can expect him to return to pre-injury form or not.
Every couple of weeks I’ll take a look at various stats to try to determine if any trends stand out. These trends could relate to specific players or situations. I’ll be looking at targets, snap shares, and airyards among other metrics to help formulate opinions on players and how you as a dynasty player should be interpreting this data. This week I’m reviewing a couple of rookie running backs, Todd Gurley, a second-year wide receiver breakout and the Green Bay Packers WR2 competition.
