The BIG10 conference officially joined in the fun this week, as we got to watch Indiana upset #8 Penn State on the final play, one of the craziest we’ve seen this season. There were many impressive performances, and a lot of youngsters stood out this past Saturday. Let’s take a look at the draft stock movement on some players after watching Saturday play out!

Devy Breakout Player of the Week

By Brad Hartnett | October 26, 2020 | Comments Off on Devy Breakout Player of the Week

In devy leagues, we are all looking for not only the generational talents at the collegiate level that will be NFL stars when they go pro, but we are also looking for the hidden gems that go under the radar but will be league winners someday. While the generational talents like Trevor Lawrence, Travis Etienne, and Ja’Marr Chase are all well known in the fantasy community this article will try to determine breakout players who can be attained in future devy drafts based on their on-field play and analytical profiles.

Don’t Panic on Bijan Robinson

By Zach Glicksman | October 22, 2020 | Comments Off on Don’t Panic on Bijan Robinson

In devy, the name of the game is patience. Did we all want Bijan Robinson to be the guy in week one and get 20+ touches per game? Of course. But, that isn’t always how it shakes out. However, with less than elite competition in the backfield, he should see his touches continue to increase. Remember, Robinson still has two more full seasons to live up to the hype of being the number one running back prospect. Don’t get frustrated with Robinson after three games, as I believe he will be the primary ball carrier by seasons end.

Compared to the previous two weeks, Week Six of the college football season played out relatively similar to what fans expected. There were many unexpected shootouts in the SEC this week, which is unique. However, outside of #21 Texas A&M taking down #4 Florida and an unranked Mizzou team upsetting #17 LSU, the week seemed status quo. We again will discuss some of this past weekend’s player performances and draft stock movement!

Devy Breakout Player of the Week: Week 4

By Brad Hartnett | October 5, 2020 | Comments Off on Devy Breakout Player of the Week: Week 4

As we mentioned in last week’s article, the game to watch this week was an SEC powerhouse matchup between the fourth-ranked Georgia Bulldogs and the seventh-ranked Auburn Tigers. Stetson Bennett got his first win as a starting quarterback behind the strong running of Zamir White and the outside playmaking of redshirt sophomore Kearis Jackson. The Bulldogs ended up rolling Auburn 27-6 that emphasized the rawness of sophomore quarterback Bo Nix. The lone positive takeaway for the Tigers was Cartavious “Tank” Bigsby; the true freshman running back displayed his receiving chops hauling in seven catches for 68 yards despite his rushing troubles against the strong Georgia front.

Devy Breakout Player of the Week: Week 3

By Brad Hartnett | September 28, 2020 | Comments Off on Devy Breakout Player of the Week: Week 3

SEC football came back, and it did not disappoint! The player of the week was Florida’s star tight end Kyle Pitts who put up an amazing stat line of eight catches for 170 yards and four TDs. His junior quarterback Kyle Trask was dealing, he finished the game with 416 passing yards and six TDs, making it clear why he was the preseason All-SEC QB1. The Florida Gators routed Ole Miss 51-35 ruining Lane Kiffin’s coaching debut, though they could not slow down the Rebels’ slot receiver Elijah Moore. The junior receiver had 10 catches for 227 yards against the Gator defense.

Devy Breakout Player of the Week: Week 2

By Brad Hartnett | September 21, 2020 | Comments Off on Devy Breakout Player of the Week: Week 2

Two-years ago The Citadel took second-ranked, Tua Tagovailoa led Alabama to a 10-10 tie at halftime before ultimately falling to the powerhouse Tide. Their matchup against Clemson did not go quite as well. By the start of the second quarter, Clemson was up by 35 and backup quarterback D.J. Uiagalelei was already in the game. Trevor Lawrence is playing like a first overall pick should in this young season completing 81% of his passes for an average of over 14 yards per attempt and four TDs to zero interceptions. Star senior running back Travis Etienne is showing his versatility, and sophomore receiver Frank Ladson Jr. is showing signs of a breakout season.

Devy Breakout Player of the Week: Week 1

By Brad Hartnett | September 14, 2020 | Comments Off on Devy Breakout Player of the Week: Week 1

Seven of the 20 games played this weekend resulted in a Vegas underdog victory. On Thursday night, the Miami Hurricanes and transfer quarterback D’Eriq King handled the UAB Blazers. Arkansas State’s two-quarterback system upset Kansas State due to a breakout performance from Jonathan Adams Jr. The upset of the week though was Ragin Cajuns of Louisiana-Lafayette taking down Brock Purdy and the 23rd ranked Iowa State Cyclones. Purdy, who was seen by many as a potential late first-round pick in the upcoming NFL Draft threw for only 145 yards and an interception. It is worth noting that Purdy didn’t have his star tight-end Charlie Kolar, but the Cyclones had no answer for the special teams play of the Ragin Cajuns.

Devy Breakout Player of the Week: Week 0

By Brad Hartnett | September 11, 2020 | Comments Off on Devy Breakout Player of the Week: Week 0

During Week 0 we had several teams from Conference USA, the AAC, Ohio Valley, Southland, and the Sun Belt Conferences kick off their season. While this sample of schools does not typically offer many NFL prospects there are still takeaways from an exciting week. Many of these games were blowouts, so the players who participated need to be mentioned with a caveat that these performances do not necessarily reflect what these players will be capable of if they make it to the next level, some did show glimpses that they have what it takes.

As this college football season shapes up to be the most unpredictable in memory, it will be as important as ever for devy owners to keep tabs on what is happening. The COVID-19 pandemic has already caused major headaches for the college football landscape, as two Power 5 conferences have already postponed their seasons (BIG10 and PAC12).  Sprinkled in are many high profile opt-outs who have chosen to forego their 2020 season and prepare for the NFL draft.

DFF Devy League Manual: Pt 2

The DFF Devy Manual: Part 2

By Brad Hartnett | August 7, 2020 | Comments Off on The DFF Devy Manual: Part 2

The type of league you choose is all based on how risk-averse you would like to be. Let’s look at how to find the perfect devy league and detail what to expect in each.

DFF Devy League Manual

The DFF Devy Manual: Part 1

By Brad Hartnett | August 6, 2020 | Comments Off on The DFF Devy Manual: Part 1

Devy leagues by nature are dynasty leagues. A dynasty league is defined as rosters being constant year over year, with an annual draft for incoming rookies. While a devy league will have annual drafts, once you have a devy player, they are automatically transferred to your roster. This excludes them from the annual draft.
