Dynasty Vet Values – Vol. 4

Welcome back to the Dynasty Vet Values series, where I cover veteran players who are excellent targets for your contending teams based on current Dynasty market value. We all know youth and longevity are essential to remain competitive in Dynasty. But, at the end of the day, the ultimate goal is to win fantasy championships, and sometimes that means acquiring that “win-now” asset who may be past his prime. I put out a new article biweekly for this series, so be sure to stay tuned as the season progresses!

I’ll be using KeepTradeCut to determine each player’s current market value, as this is a crowdsourced Dynasty ranking site, so it gives us a great idea of where the community stands.

Jauan Jennings (WR – SF)

KTC Rank: WR73

The San Francisco 49ers are in some deep trouble seven games into the season, currently sitting at 3-4 and without their top two wide receivers, Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk. Reports are out that Aiyuk is done for the season with an ACL and MCL tear, and Deebo is currently hospitalized with pneumonia with no timetable for return. Even if we’re being optimistic and assuming Deebo is back in the next 2-3 weeks, the illness could mean Deebo returns to the field a shell of himself, as he will have to gradually build his strength back up.

So, where does this leave us with the pass catchers for Brock Purdy? Well, George Kittle is a possible league winner ROS, but I left him off my list this week, as it’s unlikely you’ll be able to acquire him for a bargain. Jauan Jennings, on the other hand, is ranked as the Dynasty WR73, making him an excellent trade target if you’re looking for additional WR depth. Many Dynasty players will be aggressively targeting Ricky Pearsall (WR49), who I believe is a nice target as well. But on a strong contending team, I’d prefer Jennings at cost, who is valued in line with a 2025 late second. Jennings has the ability to line up in the slot and out wide and should see some very healthy route participation numbers, even when Deebo returns.

I prefer Jennings more in Best Ball, where we don’t have to guess when the breakout game will be, but if you’re in a pinch with wide receiver injuries, Jennings is a solid flex option and could help you win some matchups in 2024.

Rachaad White (RB – TB)

KTC Rank: RB39

I can’t believe I’m adding Rachaad White to my Vet Values list, being the president of the Rachaad White Hater Club. Let me be clear on this: Bucky Irving is clearly the more talented back, and Sean Tucker may honestly be better as well. However, as it stands, White is still seeing about 50% of the snaps in this backfield, and he’s never going away entirely due to his receiving upside. Analytically, Rachaad has been one of the absolute worst rushers in the NFL the past two seasons, but he catches the football, and in PPR formats, that’s worth something. He’s had multiple receptions in five of six games this season and has seen six targets in three. Rachaad finally found the endzone a couple of times last night (albeit during garbage time), posting 29.1 FPs and an RB2 finish on the week.

While we’re surely not going to get any more 29-point outings from White, he does have low RB1 upside on a weekly basis simply due to the fantasy-friendly role he plays in this offense. White is valued in line with a mid-to-late 2026 2nd round pick, according to KeepTradeCut. If your RB room is looking a bit bleak on your contending roster and you need a little boost, shipping out your 2026 2nd for White may prove to be a wise choice. Yuck…I just threw up in my mouth a little.

Hunter Henry (TE – NE)

KTC Rank: TE25

I know what you’re thinking. And no, I quite literally could not have found a more boring player to add to my Dynasty Vet Value article this week. But sometimes boring players score fantasy points, and that appears to be the case with Hunter Henry.

Hunter Henry got off to a pretty disappointing start this 2024 season, but since Drake Maye has taken over at quarterback in Week 6, he’s been a focal point to this New England passing attack. In the past two weeks, Henry totaled 14 targets, 11 receptions, 133 yards, and one touchdown. In Week 6, Henry scored 13.1 PPR points, finishing as the TE7, and he followed that up with a TE6 finish in Week 7, scoring 17.2 points. From a per-route perspective, in those two weeks, Henry has averaged .21 targets per route run and 2.05 yards per route run. Those are both impressive marks for a tight end.

Henry still has two more years on contract in New England and is tied to a rising star in Drake Maye. In addition, this Patriots team is going to be in plenty of negative game scripts ROS, meaning plenty of opportunity for Henry to see targets. He’s an excellent plug-and-play option for your contending teams and is valued around a mid-2025 3rd on KTC. Buy aggressively.
