Dynasty Buy and Sell: Week 5

It is time for you to be real with your roster. Are you a top-4 team with a legit chance to win? Are you a middle-of-the-road team that has been hit with the injury bug? If not, you should be selling. Do not get stuck with aging Dynasty assets if you are not a contender. With that, let’s dive into my top four “buys” and “sells” for Dynasty.

Buys

Deshaun Watson, QB, Browns

  • Dirt cheap and often valued as a low-cost QB2.
  • Lots of young pieces around him if he can stay healthy.
  • At his peak, he was a top-5 quarterback in Dynasty, so he could pay off big if he got even close to what he used to be.

I’d try to buy him for Aaron Jones, Malachi Fields, Stefon Diggs, or Travis Kelce.

Omarion Hampton, RB, Chargers

  • Very low cost for a great prospect coming out of college.
  • Mike McDaniel could be fired soon, which would help Omarion.
  • His coach loves running the football at every stop he has been.

I would be trying to buy him for Derrick Henry, D’Andre Swift, or Javonte Williams.

Christian Watson, WR, Packers

I would try to buy him for Derrick Henry, Javonte Williams, D’Andre Swift, or Christian McCaffrey.

Isaiah Likely, TE, Giants

  • Lead option at tight end. Not behind Mark Andrews any longer.
  • Clear number two option behind Malik Nabers.
  • Very affordable for potentially a top-5 tight end production.

I would be trying to buy him for Jameson Williams, Jadarian Price, or Dalton Kincaid.

Aaron Rodgers

Sells

Aaron Rodgers, QB, Steelers

  • He is 42 years old and is going to retire after the season, leaving you with nothing.
  • The Steelers are a run-first team, so his potential is capped.
  • Great value for a contender for a quarterback three in Superflex leagues.

I would be trying to sell him if not a contender for Eli Raridon, Nicholas Singleton, Drew Allar, Max Klare, or Elic Ayomanor.

D’Andre Swift, RB, Bears

  • He turns 28 this year. Past the age cliff.
  • Last year of his contract.
  • Kyle Monangai carved out a heavy share of touches and is splitting red-zone work.

I’d try to sell him for Omarion Hampton, TreVeyon Henderson, Bhayshul Tuten, or Quinshon Judkins.

Davante Adams, WR, Raiders

  • Should have some regression now that Puka is back, and even more so when Terrance Ferguson is back from the injured reserve.
  • Nearly 34, and the age cliff is near. Could lose value very quickly.
  • He has been very touchdown-dependent so far this season.

I would be trying to sell him for Makai Lemon, KC Concepcion, or Michael Penix Jr.

Juwan Johnson, TE, Saints

  • Target competition with the Saints drafting Oscar Delp, signing Noah Fant, and Jordyn Tyson coming back soon, hopefully from the injured reserve.
  • I think his value has peaked for a 30-year-old tight end. Great for contenders but not great if you are a rebuilder.

I would be trying to sell him for Omar Cooper, Terrance Ferguson, Brenton Strange, Xavier Worthy, or Eli Stowers.

Closing

If you’re pushing for a title, get aggressive. Grab the players who are trending up before the box scores catch up. And if you’re sitting on a name that’s losing steam, cash out while there’s still value to be had. These are the moves that separate the ones chasing trophies from the ones checking out early.
