It’s that time of the season to take stock of our teams. In my leagues where I am no longer in the playoff hunt, the time to let go of unwanted players for some draft capital has begun. I will share with you a couple of my DEs I am shopping. Value jumps around depending on the scoring and starting requirements in your leagues.
Taco Charlton, Dallas Cowboys
I’m afraid I have not seen much to be excited about with Taco. I had Taco 7th at his position entering the rookie drafts and, should have been a few spots lower. He will not be the player his biggest fans wanted him to be. He is easily removed from plays and not getting disengaged he has not shown well on the stat sheets either. With so many Dallas fans still holding him to a higher caliber player than I see him, try and get your pick back for 2018. One player I would swap him for is, Carl Lawson.
Deatrich Wise, New England Patriots
I absolutely love this kid’s talent. Playmaker and high energy player. Can close the field to makes plays, and that’s not something to take for granted. He will continue to develop and improve immensely in another year. Why then am I selling? I have seen some lofty trades to land his services. 2nd round rookie picks and more! I would make that trade and draft some offensive depth at that price. Next year’s draft is looking like a good year to hold some extra picks. Do not give him away, but I would let him go at his current price.
Jerry Hughes, Buffalo Bills
This hurts me! One of those players I was sure would battle back into the elite range this season. Some infighting beat him as well as mental mistakes. Seemed at times to be easily batted into penalties and that loss of focus crippled him. My guess is he will not be with the Bills next season. Registering 5.8 million in dead money opposed to 10 million on the roster, it’s an iffy call, I know. Additionally, the fantasy production as well as on the NFL field has just not been at the level I was expecting. I’d be happy with one of the top rookie performers in a swap here.
