#3 Bengals @ #1 Chiefs
My Pick: Chiefs +1
Over/Under: OVER 47.5
This is going to be a battle. These were the two best teams in the AFC and maybe even the entire league to end the season. They both deserve to be here and both deserve to win, but only one can go to the Super Bowl. First, let’s talk about Mahomes. He got injured last week and didn’t look right in the second half and that might have you worried about taking the Chiefs. There were already videos showing Mahomes running at practice and his movement looks good, so I assume he is healthy enough to play. And if Mahomes plays he always has a chance. I value these teams similarly but the Chiefs are at home and they were given the points so I will pick that side. I am also taking the over because these are two potent offenses and a lot of points will need to be scored in a close game.
Travis Kelce O77.5 Rec Yards -114
Kelce is Mahomes’ go-to guy in this offense and especially in the playoffs. In Kelce’s last seven playoff games, he has amassed 95 yards or more. I expect this trend to continue, or for him to at least reach 80. Teams know he is getting the ball but they still can’t stop it. I like him to score this weekend too, +100 odds, he has scored in six of those seven playoff games as well. He’s also scored in nine of his last eleven, Kelce is a monster in the playoffs.
Hayden Hurst O35.5 Rec Yards -114
Hurst has been a good asset for this Bengals team, especially late in the playoffs. He has eclipsed 36 yards in both games and scored in one. The Chiefs will be doing their best to stop the likes of Chase and Higgins, Hurst is a guy Burrow trusts and can pick up solid gains. I like the tight ends this weekend.
#2 49ers @ #1 Eagles
My Pick: 49ers +2.5
Over/Under: UNDER 46.5
In the NFC we have the one seed versus the two seed and this is what was always going to happen. Easily the two best teams in the conference and it was not close in the NFC. After last week you may be surprised I am not siding with the Eagles. They just killed the Giants and the 49ers played a close game versus the Cowboys. But we have to remember Vegas wants bets to be 50/50 and it is based on public opinion. I am fading the results of last week and saying I think this will be a close game that either team can win. In that case, I am always taking the points. I am also taking the under because both teams have great defenses and like to run the ball. Longer drives, fewer possessions, fewer points.
Brock Purdy Pass TDs O1.5 +116
Brock Purdy has played eight games in his NFL career, he has thrown two or more touchdowns in seven of those games. The 49ers have a great ability to score on long plays from outside of the red zone, but also like to get tricky and pass on the goal line. The 49ers implied total is 22 points, if they score three touchdowns two of them will be passing.
Jalen Hurts O47.5 Rush Yards -114
Jalen looked good last week and was not afraid to run early in the game. Another week goes by and another week healthier he gets. This game will be a fight to the death and that could mean a lot of third downs. Hurts will do whatever it takes to get those firsts and we could see him pick up a lot of rush yards. Plus, now that it is do or die the Eagles won’t be afraid to call more designed QB runs. Designed plays plus scrambles mean Hurts will hit 50 yards.
