Dynasty Stat Takeaways Through Two Weeks

Every couple of weeks I’ll take a look at various stats to try to determine if any trends stand out. These trends could relate to specific players or situations. I’ll be looking at targets, snap shares, and airyards among other metrics to help formulate opinions on players and how you as a dynasty player should be interpreting this data. This week I’m reviewing a couple of rookie running backs, Todd Gurley, a second-year wide receiver breakout and the Green Bay Packers WR2 competition.

Week two brought even more injuries and more players that stepped up, taking advantage of the opportunities those injuries provided. There were also a couple of players who came out of nowhere to have breakouts in week two that need to be on your radar. As always I dig through the game tape and game stats to find some hidden gems for your dynasty rosters.

Antonio Brown’s Wild Ride: Wins even when he loses

In a shocking turn of events, Antonio Brown has agreed to terms with the Patriots. The idea has been tossed around over the last couple of weeks during Brown’s fallout with Oakland as a complete joke.
No one could have actually guessed, or have thought Antonio Brown would be released by the Raiders and sign with New England, but here we are.
Tom Brady passing to Antonio Brown is a reality. Mr. Big Chest brings his talents to Foxboro for at least a year. Adam Schefter reports the Patriots have agreed to a one year deal worth up to $15m that includes $9m signing bonus, another $1m guaranteed and $5m in incentives.

Sanders vs. Singletary Rap Battle

In light of LeSean McCoy’s recent release, our writers had a spirited discussion that nobody thought was likely to ever occur four months ago. So in the spirit of “8 Mile”, @DFF_Mike2 and @DFF_Biscuits have decided to have a rap battle about two rookie RBs. Is Miles Sanders or Devin Singletary the better asset in dynasty leagues for year one, for 2020 and beyond, or both?

Ezekiel Elliott: Cowboy for life

That’s right, business is about to pick up in Dallas! Elliott has officially signed a six-year extension for $90m, with approximately half of it guaranteed. As stated in Rapoport’s tweet, this locks up Elliott for the next 8 years at a (Dallas Cowboys) record-setting contract of over $100m, and the highest running back contract ever.

Dynasty Outlook: Corey Davis vs A.J. Brown

As I have progressed through my series of Dynasty Outlooks in recent weeks, one pairing that kept coming up time and time again from the fantasy community was Corey Davis vs. A.J. Brown. This was my first dive into a comparative piece that takes into account an incoming rookie who yet to play a single

NFC Divisional Odds

This is the second article of a two-part series analyzing the odds for NFL Division winners. In case you missed it, the first part of this series covered AFC Divisions; you can find it here. Divisional bets can provide real value if you’re willing to put in the time and effort. For instance, last year two teams went from 2017 doormats to divisional winners (the Texans and the Bears) and provided bettors with a nice payout. While a worst-to-first turnaround shouldn’t be expected every year, there is certainly value to be had in placing these year-long bets. For each division, I’ll be providing two picks. The first is the “Best Bet,” or the bet I feel is most likely to hit. As boring as it is, this is most likely the favorite and thus the safest bet to place. The second is the “Best Odds,” or where I perceive the best value to be. Full disclosure, this is where I take a little more liberty in my selections so if you’re looking for an opinion on the safest bet, I’d suggest sticking with my first recommendation. With that out of the way, let’s get on with the show!
