The Waiver Wire: Week 5

Concussions seemed to be the injury du jour this week. Jarvis Landry and T.J. Hockenson were both unable to finish their games on Sunday after suffering one. After last week’s relatively quiet week on the quarterback injury front, Mitchell Trubisky was lost to a shoulder (left) injury and Josh Allen went down with a concussion. Besides the regular waiver wire recommendations, I’ll sprinkle in some dynasty advice this week, to spice things up a bit. Bye weeks also continue with two more teams off in week five, the Lions and Dolphins.

Divisional Nuggets: NFC North Week 3 Update

Allen Robinson, WRHe’s the best option in the passing game. Trubisky stares him down on plenty of plays. He’s averaging nine targets per game, good for 26.5% target share. Nobody else on the team is above 20%. Taylor Gabriel is outscoring Robinson for the year, largely because he’s probably caught 60% of his yearly touchdowns vs the Redskins. Even with the great Gabriel performance, Robinson commands 38% of the team’s air yards. It’s only a matter of time before Robinson starts to find the end zone and breaks out. If somebody is just box score scouting, I’d offer a late first pretty easily for him. He’s just entering his athletic prime, more than a year removed from the ACL tear, and getting awesome volume. Gobble up those shares.

We know James Washington and Mason Rudolph played together for four years in college (2014-2017) and put up some pretty impressive numbers at Oklahoma State. The Waiver Wire: Week Four

We’re moving into the fourth week of the season, and fantasy football is in full swing. That means it’s time to start digging deep into your league’s waiver wires. Bye weeks begin with San Francisco and the New York Jets taking the week off. We had no quarterback injuries this week, but Saquon Barkley did go down to an ankle injury. Outside of that, this week was mercifully injury-free for fantasy assets. That leaves less obvious options on the wire. AFC North Factory Divisional Nuggets: Week 2

“Not bad for a running back”. That post-game quote from Lamar Jackson summed up the Ravens’ decimation of the Dolphins in Week 1. The new-look Ravens offense hung 59 points on the hapless Fins (42 by halftime) which afforded Lamar Jackson an early exit during the fourth quarter. After winning the division by finishing the 2018 season on a 6-1 record with Jackson at QB, the Ravens essentially rebuilt their offense around their new signal-caller. They drafted two wide receivers and a running back, brought over veteran free agent Mark Ingram, and turned the keys over to Lamar Jackson. The early returns look promising.
