DFF Draft Coverage: Dyami Brown to the Washington Football Team

DYAMI BROWN | UNC        6’1” 185 lbs.        11/1/1999 (Age 21)

Dyami Brown was drafted 82nd overall by the Washington Football Team, becoming the 12th wide receiver and 24th overall fantasy player in the 2021 NFL Draft.

COLLEGE PRODUCTION

Dyami Brown’s College Stats by Age

Dyami Brown had a very strong Sophomore and Junior seasons at UNC. He achieved over a 20% target share in both seasons as well as eclipsing 1000 receiving yards. His sophomore stat line in particular is very impressive with the 12 TDs that he added. I also have a few advanced metrics on Dyami Brown which include early declare status, best season TD share, and best season yards per team pass attempt (Y/TPA).
These stats are very predictive towards NFL fantasy points per game and Dyami does very well in all of them. I like to see my prospects be an early declare, have over 30% TD share, and eclipse 2.9 yards per team pass attempt. Dyami is an early declare, had a best season TD share of 34.3%, and a yards per team pass attempt of 3.45. His Y/TPA stat is considered elite (83rd percentile) and his weakness is his breakout age of 19.8. This is hardly a weakness, but I do like to see my prospects hit 19.5 or lower. Overall I really like Dyami’s production profile and think he has a good shot to succeed in the NFL.

ATHLETIC TESTING

At his North Carolina Pro Day, Dyami Brown measured in at 6’1” and 185 lbs. Which equates to a BMI of 24.4. His 40-yard dash time was 4.50-seconds, his burst score was 124.4, and his agility score was 11.2. All of these metrics are pretty average, but they are not bad which is all that matters for a WR. Athleticism matters very little for WRs in the NFL to an extent, as long as you are not awful at it you still have a good chance to succeed. Dyami’s only red flag here would be his BMI. Typically you would like to see your WR have a BMI over 25.0. However, I do not think BMI is very predictive and I am not worried about Brown barely missing the threshold.

DRAFT ANALYSIS

Rapid Reaction to Draft Capital: Average

Rapid Reaction to Landing Spot: Great

Dyami Brown was selected with the 82nd-overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft by the Washington Football Team.

FANTASY INSIGHTS

Dyami Brown being drafted on day two was very pleasing to see. This year the WRs ended up being drafted lower than many thought, so this boosts Dyami’s stock in my eyes. He will immediately step in as the WR two on this team behind Terry McLaurin. This will help free up McLaurin, but Terry will still see double coverage often. Leaving Dyami to do work on both the outside and inside of the field. One concern is the QB uncertainty but in 2021 I love Fitzpatrick. I am also sure the Football Team is hard at work to find their next franchise guy or get a solid bridge QB. Either way, Dyami is firmly in my top eight rookie WRs. I love this spot and am happy with the draft capital. Target Dyami around 2.06 in your Superflex rookie drafts.
