Omar Cooper Jr. |Indiana |6’0, 199 lbs | 22 Years Old
Omar Cooper Jr. was drafted by the N.Y. Jets, becoming the 5th wide receiver and 30th overall player in the 2026 NFL Draft.
COLLEGE PRODUCTION
Omar Cooper Jr. took a real jump in 2025 and showed he could be more than just a piece of the offense. He became a true go-to target for Indiana and produced like it.
He finished with 69 catches for 937 yards and 13 touchdowns, and what really stands out is how efficiently he was doing it. His 81.4% catch rate is strong, and his 21.3% target share shows the offense trusted him in a big way.
This was not just a guy catching a few schemed-up touches. He was a major part of the passing game and delivered week after week.
The touchdown jump also matters. Finding the end zone 13 times tells you he knows how to get open when the field gets tight and the windows get smaller.

FILM
Omar Cooper Jr. is a big, powerful athlete who plays with a “bully” mentality.
The first thing that jumps out is his initial burst. He has a serious gear right at the start of the play that catches defenders off guard, helping him get downfield in a hurry. While he’s explosive in a straight line, he can look a bit “clunky” or stiff when he has to make sharp turns. He doesn’t always have that smooth, fluid movement you see from smaller guys, but he makes up for it with raw strength.
He plays much bigger than his 6’0″ frame. He’s an explosive leaper who loves to go up and grab the ball out of the air at its highest point. He is extremely comfortable catching the ball while being hit, using his strong hands and sturdy frame to shield defenders away. For a quarterback, he’s a great target because he makes the “throwing window” feel much larger than it actually is.
After the catch, he’s a handful. He runs like a rugged ball carrier, often bouncing off multiple tacklers and fighting for every extra inch. He isn’t just looking to get out of bounds; he’s looking to punish defenders in the open field.
To take the next step, he needs to show more consistent effort as a blocker and clean up his footwork on those middle-of-the-field routes.

ATHLETIC TESTING
Omar Cooper Jr. tested well enough to back up what you see on tape.
He ran a 4.42 in the 40, which is plenty of speed for the position and gives him enough juice to win vertically when needed.
At 199 pounds, he has a solid build, and while he doesn’t have elite size, he plays with good body control and balance.
The testing doesn’t scream freak athlete, but it does confirm he has more than enough athletic ability to go with the polished game.
Overall, it matches the film. Smooth, quick, and more explosive than people may think at first glance.

DRAFT ANALYSIS
Rapid Reaction to Draft Capital: (Excellent)
Rapid Reaction to Landing Spot: (Great)
Omar Cooper Jr. was taken 30th overall by the N.Y. Jets. This is a player coaches are going to love because he already does the dirty work, like fighting for tough catches and moving the chains, really well.
The fact that the Jets traded back into the first round to get him tells us they plan on making him a big part of the offense immediately. I believe this is a great landing spot for Cooper. As for @John_mancuso5, not so much (LOL).
FANTASY INSIGHTS
In fantasy football, Omar Cooper Jr. is the kind of player who could turn into a total steal for your team.
He has the two things that matter most: power and speed. Because he’s so strong and hard to tackle, he’s great at turning a short, simple catch into a huge gain. That’s a massive advantage for fantasy scoring.
The New York Jets liked him enough to move up and pick him in the first round, which means they plan on using him a lot. While he’s still learning some of the finer technical details of the position, his “bully” style of play makes him a safe bet to eventually become a reliable, high-scoring starter for your roster.
