COLLEGE PRODUCTION

2019 (FR) | 11 | 9 | 80 | 8.9 | 1 |
2020 (SO) | 6 | 7 | 113 | 16.1 | 0 |
2021 (JR) | 11 | 8 | 63 | 7.9 | 1 |

After four seasons of little-to-no production, Legette took off in 2023, hauling in 71 receptions for 1,255 yards, and seven touchdowns. His 71 receptions were tied for the fifth-most all-time in South Carolina’s history. His 1,255 receiving yards in a single season were the second-most all-time in team history, and it was also good enough to land him with the eighth-most in the entire nation during the 2023 campaign. He also produced the second-most receiving yards in a single game in team history with 217 against Jacksonville State. His impressive 2023 season earned him Second-team All-SEC honors as well.

STRENGTHS
Has great size, as he can often come down with the reception in jump ball situations. Comes down with difficult receptions along the sidelines and in the middle through traffic. Unbelievable top-line speed for his size. Excellent acceleration and capable of outrunning nearly every defender on the field. Terrific athleticism and he often thrives against physical defenders with great leaping abilities and body control. Also a capable blocker on the outside, which should benefit him at the pro level.
WEAKNESSES
Not the best route-runner. Often rushes through his route progressions and relies too much on his speed to win route battles. Doesn’t get in and out of his breaks quickly enough for someone with his speed. Tends to take his foot off the gas too often. Hauls in too many receptions with his chest rather than his hands. Limited college production with only one productive collegiate season under his belt.
ATHLETIC TESTING
At the NFL combine, Legette measured in at 6’1” and 221 lbs, which equates to a BMI of 29.2. He ran a blazing 4.39-second 40-yard dash (94th percentile), equating to a 119-speed score (98th percentile). Legette also displayed a 131 burst score (89th percentile) and a college dominator score of 35.5 percent (72nd percentile).
Legette shows elite speed, as his 4.39-second 40-yard dash was tied for the sixth fastest amongst all wide receivers at the NFL Combine. Legette also displays solid leaping abilities with a 40” vertical (also sixth-best) and a 126” broad jump. His biggest red flag would be his agility, as his 1.54-second 10-yard split landed him in the lower half of the wide receiver group at the Combine.
DRAFT ANALYSIS
Rapid Reaction to Draft Capital: Good
Rapid Reaction to Landing Spot: Great
Legette was selected with the 32nd overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft by the Carolina Panthers.
Bryce Young gets another weapon to line up with Adam Thielen, Diontae Johnson, and Jonathan Mingo. Legette should be able to beat out Mingo for that WR3 spot. As for the future, he could turn into this team’s WR1 as early as 2025.
FANTASY INSIGHTS
I had Legette as my ninth receiver in this year’s draft class. I had a higher grade on Adonai Mitchell, Keon Coleman, and Troy Franklin.
In your rookie drafts, Leggete should be an early second-round pick. He may not produce right away but his future outlook is bright. Don’t be surprised if he turns into the WR1 for this team sooner rather than later.
