2025 Post-Combine Dynasty Rookie Tiers: Quarterbacks

This year’s incoming rookie class isn’t as top-heavy for quarterbacks as in years past. 2024 saw six QBs drafted in the top 12, and going into this season, all six appear viable in real-life football and for fantasy purposes. Although we may not have any locks with our incoming rookies, the general landscape for QBs in the NFL is not getting any younger, as nearly a quarter of the league’s starting quarterbacks are at least 32 years old. There is certainly a chance for a couple of the 2025 quarterbacks to emerge.

Here, we are going to take a look at 5 Superflex Dynasty Fantasy Football Tiers for the 2025 Rookie Quarterbacks before the draft. The 5 Tiers are:

Tier 1: Dynasty Cornerstone

This player is someone that you are building your roster around and is a consistent fantasy producer week-in, week-out

Tier 2: Superflex Starter

This player has some boom/bust potential, but you would feel comfortable drafting this player and inserting them at the bottom of your lineup

Tier 3: Roster Worthy

This player should be drafted but may need some development in the NFL before becoming a Fantasy Football producer and starter in your lineup

Tier 4: Taxi Squad/Deep Roster Stash

This player has some NFL attributes or was a high producer at the college level but needs some help with landing spots and/or injuries to be a Fantasy Football Viable

Tier 5: Dart Throw

This player will likely be near the end of your rookie drafts or possibly go undrafted and could more likely be a Clayton Tune than Brock Purdy.

Tier 1 Quarterbacks – Cornerstone

None. At this point, this rookie class is not giving us a bona-fide QB1.

Tier 2 Quarterbacks – Starter

Cameron Ward – Miami

6’2, 223 lbs, 22.9 years old

Cam Ward made a ton of money by staying in college for one more year, both through NIL and by draft position. Had he come out in 2024, he likely would have been the QB7 drafted in a crowded QB room. Now, a year later, he is the odds-on favorite to be drafted early in the 1st round as a franchise QB. Ward spent the year carving up college defenses, showing he has an NFL-level arm and can operate well out of the pocket. There will be some growing pains, though, as the ACC & PAC-12 defenses are less challenging than what he will see on Sundays. Before even getting drafted, Ward is a safe bet to be a QB2 on your dynasty squad, and his ceiling could take him to be one of your cornerstones.

Shedeur Sanders – Colorado

6’2, 212 lbs, 23.1 years old

Shedeur Sanders is the definition of a polarizing prospect. If you watched him in college, the dude can flat-out ball, putting up video game numbers on a weekly basis. In doing so, Sanders showed NFL-level accuracy and processing but exposed his pocket awareness and willingness to use his legs. While he does many things well, he will certainly need to arrive in a plus situation to help him on the path to relevancy as an NFL quarterback and a consistent fantasy football producer. It may be risky to go into the season with Sanders as your QB2, but I would take a flier on the all-time record holder for NCAA career completion percentage.

Dart

Tier 3 Quarterbacks – Roster Worthy

Jaxson Dart – Ole Miss

6’2, 223 lbs, 21.1 years old

Jaxson Dart is quickly becoming one of my favorite rookies in this class, as his stock is skyrocketing heading into the draft. While he may not do anything at an elite level, he does a lot of things well. As the youngest QB in this class, he has a lot of room to grow and work on his processing. If Dart ends up with first-round capital, he could find his way into your starting lineup sooner rather than later.

Tier 4 Quarterbacks – Deep Roster Stash

Quinn Ewers – Texas

6’2, 214 lbs, 22.0 years old

Rewind a couple of years, Quinn Ewers, the highest-ever rated recruit, looked destined to be a franchise quarterback. Here we are in 2025, and Ewers stock has plummeted. While Ewers is a solid game manager and could find himself with a long NFL career, the chances of him making an impact on your Fantasy Football lineup on a weekly basis are limited.

Tyler Shough – Louisville

6’5, 219 lbs, 25.5 years old

If Tyler Shough was two years younger, we might be talking about him in a different category of dynasty asset. Shough may throw one of the best balls in this class with plus efficiency and athleticism. With his age, though, he will need a lot of things to fall his way very quickly, as his window for fantasy football relevancy could be nearly closed before his NFL career even starts. If Shough ends up with Day 2 NFL draft capital, he is certainly worth the stash on your roster if you have a spot.

Kyle McCord – Syracuse

6’3, 218 lbs, 22.6 years old

Kyle McCord has received some buzz lately, supported by an incredible statistical campaign in 2024, where he threw for 4,778 years with a 34:8 touchdown ratio. His success at Syracuse brings us to question what happened at Ohio State and why the program didn’t feel he could succeed in the quest for a National Championship. Looking to the NFL, McCord’s IQ and processing may give him a chance to compete in a training camp battle if drafted to the right situation. At cost, McCord is a nice pickup to keep on the taxi squad for a year or two.

Will Howard – Ohio State

6’4, 236 lbs, 23.6 years old

Will Howard made the right call to transfer to Ohio State, joining a loaded roster on his way to a National Championship. His previous struggles at Kansas State may call into question if this past year was a fluke, but he elevated his game this past year, quietly having a fantastic statistical season. While Howard should end up on an NFL roster, he has a long way to go to be more than a backup.

Jalen Milroe – Alabama

6’2, 217 lbs, 22.3 years old

Jalen Milroe has the talent to play in the NFL, just maybe not as a quarterback. Milroe shows flashes with his arm, particularly on deep balls, that make you think he could play on Sundays. He generally lacks consistency on his throws and struggles taking care of the ball. As a QB, Milroe is a project who may not be immediately ready to make an impact as a signal-caller. I am more interested in seeing if a team is willing to work Milroe into their game plan as a gadget player.

leonard

Tier 5 Quarterbacks – Dart Throws

Riley Leonard – Notre Dame

6’4, 216 lbs, 22.6 years old

Riley Leonard had a great season, but it may be more directly attributed to his toughness and willingness to tuck and run rather than his arm. College defenses tried to expose him, but he still found a way to get it done. Leonard has a tall hill to climb to get to fantasy football relevancy.

Dillon Gabriel – Oregon

5’11, 205 lbs, 24.2 years old

Dillon Gabriel has been in college for a long time. As such, you would expect him to be a step ahead of defenses and execute efficiently, which is exactly what he did. Gabriel’s capped ceiling and physical limitations inhibit his Dynasty Value.
