Jimmy Garoppolo

Week 6 Streamers

Week 6 is the beginning of bye weeks here in 2022. That means it could be time for you to start streaming one of your positions in search of a one-week rental. Maybe the injury bug is forcing you to stream this week. No matter what the situation is, we have you covered. We will always provide the best weekly options to stream at quarterback, tight end, and D/ST. Remember that each streaming option will be below 60% owned, according to ESPN. Below, you will find two streamers per position and a “deep stream” option (15% or lower) as well. Stream on!

QUARTERBACK

Streamer #1: Geno Smith vs Cardinals, 32.6% owned

 Week  Opponent  Fantasy Points
 1  vs Broncos  17.2
 2  at 49ers  7.1
 3  vs Falcons  19.9
 4  at Lions  31.7
 5  at Saints  24.0

It’s almost mind-boggling that the QB7 on the season finds himself in the streaming category. Geno Smith is averaging just under 20 fantasy points per game (19.98), and yet, he’s available in more than 60% of leagues right now. He’s coming off of two straight QB4 or better finishes, and now he takes on a Cardinals defense that allowed a QB3 Week 5 finish (Jalen Hurts) of their own. They’ve given up the ninth-most fantasy points to the quarterback position through five weeks. In fact, during those five weeks, the opposing signal-caller has finished inside the top three two different times. This isn’t saying Smith will do the same, but the numbers indicate that he has a chance at filling the void for your team this week, as he’s one of the top streaming options at the quarterback position.

Streamer #2: Jimmy Garoppolo at Falcons, 11.2% owned

 Week  Opponent  Fantasy Points
 1  at Bears  N/A
 2  vs Seahawks  16.7
 3  at Broncos   9.4
 4  vs Rams  13.9
 5  at Panthers  18.0

There aren’t many great streaming options outside of Smith this week. But one glaring name that pops out is Jimmy Garoppolo. He takes on a devastating Falcons team that is currently going through a full rebuild. Atlanta is currently 22nd against fantasy signal-callers so far this season, and they’ve allowed 20-plus fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks in four of their first five games. Since taking over for an injured Trey Lance in Week 2, Garoppolo has been serviceable. He’s averaging 14.5 fantasy points per game with two finishes inside the top 14 so far. He’s projected to score 14.8 points this week, but expect even more, as Atlanta hasn’t even held a quarterback to fewer than that number yet.

TIGHT END

Streamer #1: Mike Gesicki vs Vikings, 46.8% owned

Week  Opponent  PPR  Points  Half PPR Points  Standard Points
 1  vs Patriots  1.1  0.6  0.1
 2  at Ravens  14.1  12.1  10.1
 3  vs Bills  1.6  1.1  0.6
 4  at Bengals  4.3  3.3  2.3
 5  at Jets  4.0  3.5  3.0

Streaming the tight end position has always been difficult in years past, but this may be the toughest year yet. For those who spent high on Kyle Pitts, Darren Waller, George Kittle, or T.J. Hockenson, sorry about your luck. If you didn’t pay up for Travis Kelce or Mark Andrews, you’re more than likely struggling at that position. Mike Gesicki has been a quiet disaster this season as well. He’s managed to score double-digit fantasy points just once, but this week could be his second. Both Jaylen Waddle and Tyreek Hill have been banged up recently, and Hill has a legitimate chance at missing Week 6, as he was spotted walking in a boot following his team’s loss to the Jets. Teddy Bridgewater should be back under center this week. And Minnesota is allowing 13.5 PPR points per game to tight ends through five weeks. In a pinch, Geisicki is a solid streaming option here in Week 6.

Streamer #2: Taysom Hill vs Bengals, 12.1% owned

Week  Opponent  PPR  Points  Half PPR Points  Standard Points
 1  at Falcons  15.3  14.8  14.3
 2  vs Buccaneers  1.4  1.4  1.4
 3  at Panthers  N/A  N/A  N/A
 4  vs Vikings  8.1  8.1  8.1
 5  vs Seahawks  34.1  34.1  34.1

Believe it or not, Taysom Hill is currently the TE7 in PPR formats after scorching the Seattle Seahawks in Week 5. Although he’s listed as a TE in fantasy leagues, he’s caught just one pass this season. Last week, he did most of his damage with his legs, as he carried the ball nine times for 112 yards and three touchdowns. On top of that, he threw for a score as well. He’s not someone you can rely on every week, but he’s certainly a great streaming option this week against the Bengals. Jameis Winston, Michael Thomas, Jarvis Landry, and Chris Olave are all questionable to play this week. If all four aren’t able to play, this may turn into a game where Hill finishes as a top-10 tight end on the week once again.

D/ST

Streamer #1: Rams vs Panthers, 31.8% owned

 Week  Opponent  Fantasy Points
 1  vs Bills  6.0
 2  vs Falcons  11.0
 3  at Cardinals  4.0
 4  at 49ers  0.0
 5  vs Cowboys  6.0

Although the Rams’ defense has been somewhat of a letdown this season, they are the ones to target this week if you’re streaming the D/ST position. They face off against a Panthers team that just fired their head coach (Matt Rhule), lost their starting quarterback (Baker Mayfield) to an extended period of time due to injury, and come into this week allowing the second-most fantasy points to D/STs. Sam Darnold is still not close to returning from the IR, so that means Aaron Donald and company will line up across from P.J. Walker. You can expect AT LEAST 10 from Los Angeles.

Streamer #2: Bengals at Saints, 26.5% owned

 Week  Opponent  Fantasy Points
 1  vs Steelers  4.0
 2  at Cowboys  3.0
 3  at Jets  15.0
 4  vs Dolphins  7.0
 5  at Ravens  3.0

This one isn’t as juicy as the Rams against the Panthers, but don’t underestimate the Bengals’ D/ST and their Week 6 matchup. As mentioned above, Winston, Thomas, Landry, and Olave are all questionable to play this week for the Saints. Substitute those four names with Andy Dalton, Marquez Callaway, Tre’Quan Smith, and Keith Kirkwood. Yikes. New Orleans has allowed the fourth-most fantasy points to D/STs this season. In fact, they are giving up 9.6 fantasy points per game through five weeks to that position alone. If the Rams aren’t available in your league(s), go after the Bengals and help put yourself in the best position to win this week.

BONUS

Cade Otton

Deep Stream: Cade Otton at Steelers, 1.5% owned

Week  Opponent  PPR  Points  Half PPR Points  Standard Points
 1  at Cowboys  0.0  0.0  0.0
 2  at Saints  1.4  0.9  0.4
 3  vs Packers  N/A  N/A  N/A
 4  vs Chiefs  5.9  4.4  2.9
 5  vs Falcons  10.3  7.3  4.3

Here’s an interesting one for you. Cade Otton could be a decent streaming option for your team if you play in a very deep league, or if you find yourself really desperate. Cameron Brate missed Week 5 with a concussion, and since the Tua Tagovailoa drama, the league has enforced stricter concussion protocol procedures. It wouldn’t come as a shock if Brate missed his second straight game. In his absence last week, Otton hauled in six of his seven targets for 43 yards. His target share (13%) and snap percentage (94%) indicate that he could be heavily involved once again if Brate were to miss.
