The Factory Fight Club: DFF C2C Chronicles V1

Before we get started, huge props to @Evan_Kerr_ for putting this all together. It was his brainchild to get the DFF squad on C2C last season and it’s been fun to watch the development in real-time. At last, we have arrived!

This weekend, the crew at DFF, subscribers, and close friends of the Dynasty Football Factory Family are kicking off our first-ever internal Campus to Canton League. For those unfamiliar with the format, C2C leagues allow Dynasty Fantasy Football Managers to draft, trade, and score on NFL and College Football platforms differing from traditional Devy formats where only one side of the lane produces points. It’s one of the most engaging Dynasty Fantasy Football experiences encompassing and requiring deep knowledge of the evaluating and recruiting process from high school to the professional level.

The league details are being fine-tuned as we speak. Still, I plan to use this space as an ongoing diary of sorts to report on the nuance covering the draft process, highlight particular trades within the group, share meaningful results, and provide actionable advice to those who’d like to try C2C but haven’t decided to take the next step.

Here’s a quick overview of our settings:

Campus League Summary – Fantrax

  • 12 teams
  • .5 PPR / 2 QB and Superflex / 5 Pt. TD (Passing)
  • 11 Starting Players (2 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 3 Flex, 1 SF)

Canton League Summary – Sleeper

  • 12 teams
  • PPR / Superflex / 4 Pt. TD (Passing)
  • 10 Starters (1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 3 Flex, 1 SF)

Payouts are provided to the top three finishers on Campus and Canton.

We’ll set lineups on the Canton side but the league has elected Best Ball for Campus. Contrary to the NFL, CFB late injury designations and scratches can cause chaos even among the most astute GMs. When you’re a ridiculous degenerate like me with almost 50 Dynasty and Devy leagues combined, it’s a welcome added setting.

Although I share leagues with ~95% of the analysts and players in The Factory Fight Club, there’s an internal anxiety facing 11 sharks with varying specialties. Though I like to think of myself as a Devy Enthusiast, the DFF Discord has confirmed there are dudes in here to fear when it comes to specific knowledge buckets and it’s going to be a challenge to navigate both aisles as success will undoubtedly be defined as the process evolves and the season approaches. That is to say: I have no idea what to expect, but I’m here for it.

So that’s the set-up. As previously stated, I’ll dive deeper as we progress and relay relevant information as it becomes available. I haven’t decided on any particular strategy out of the gate but my instinct is to lean heavily on the NFL and allow CFB to slowly arrive. Of course, that potentially shifts at a seismic level once draft positions have been established.
