Our weekends feel right again with college football being back and the NFL season opener just days away (I can’t remember the last time I was this excited for a Wednesday). Paul Ryan kicked off his NFC South swing this week, and the biggest question in Tampa Bay has nothing to do with the weapons around him — it’s whether the Bucs bring Baker Mayfield back. Mayfield heads into 2026 without a new deal, and he’s been open about not loving that. Between a new OC, Egbuka’s toe, and the Mike Evans trade to San Francisco, a lot is riding on Tampa figuring out its quarterback situation. Paul’s take: if the Bucs don’t pay him, somebody else will — and they’ll regret it.
