The fantasy season hasn’t even started, and yet the season is OVER for some. Houston WR Jayden Higgins was lost for the season during practice, Ashton Jeanty and the Raiders caused a meltdown on Twitter after reporting that Jeanty went down with an ankle injury (thank goodness for prayer circles), and the Bengals and Ja’Marr Chase wanted to join in on the fun when they posted a clip of Chase landing awkwardly on his foot after a play and, after trying to walk it off, fell to the ground! And now, Josh Jacobs is facing misdemeanor charges! Someone turn off the injury settings and make all the players stay inside for the next two weeks.
Thankfully, Chase is ok. But, holy cow, talk about the Sunday Scaries.

1. Training Camp Injuries
With Jayden Higgins lost for the year and Ashton Jeanty avoiding a serious injury, who else got banged up that we should know about? Luther Burden‘s groin injury cut short a scorching camp that had Ben Johnson calling him a future star, while Jayden Higgins’ ACL tear ends his 2026 season entirely. Meanwhile, Ashton Jeanty dodged a bullet — his ankle sprain isn’t considered long-term, but his Week 1 status is still up in the air, with rookie Mike Washington Jr. waiting in the wings if he’s not ready.

After this news, are you still drafting Jacobs?
2. Is Jaylin Noel the Answer in Houston?
Higgins’ injury doesn’t just hurt fantasy rosters — it reshapes the Texans’ entire receiver room. Xavier Hutchinson, Jaylin Noel, and Tank Dell are all in the mix behind Nico Collins, but one name stands out for his special-teams pedigree, 4.39 speed, and polished route running. Is Noel poised to be the biggest fantasy winner from Higgins’ absence?
Trade Alert: Texans Add Boutte to Fill the Higgins Void
The Houston Texans wasted no time in adding to their receiver room with the addition of WR Kayshon Boutte. Boutte requested a trade back in March after New England added A.J. Brown and Romeo Doubs in the offseason, on top of having already drafted speedster Kyle Williams in 2025.

Our very own Paul Ryan put the Control Room to the test, trading a 2027 2nd-round pick for MarShawn Lloyd. But with a possible suspension looming for Josh Jacobs, is this deal as uneven as it seems?

3. Does Team Success Actually Matter for Fantasy RBs?
We’ve all heard the advice: draft running backs on good offenses, fade the ones stuck on bad teams. It’s why De’Von Achane is going four spots ahead of Saquon Barkley despite scoring nearly six fewer PPR points per game last year. But after pulling ten years of NFL data, do the numbers actually back that up?
4. C2C Waiver Wire: What to Know Before Week 0
No FBS games have been played yet, which means no snap counts, no target shares, no real usage data — just camp buzz and depth chart battles. So where should your FAAB dollars actually go before kickoff?
