The Waiver Wire: Week 10 (Updated)

Another week another injury at the quarterback position. I’ve reminded you of this in the past, but I’ll do it once more. If backup quarterbacks are sitting on your Superflex leagues waiver wires, pick them up. Week 10 is the week with the most teams on bye with six. Denver, Houston, Jacksonville, New England, Philadelphia, and Washington are all off this week.

The Waiver Wire: Week 8

After a relatively calm few weeks on the injury front, injuries came back with a vengeance this week At this point of the season, you’re often left hoping to just find players to fill your roster out from the waiver wire. Because of a few key injuries, there could be players you pick up this week that not only win you a week but actually save your season. Fortuitously only two teams are on bye in Week 8, Dallas, and Baltimore (yet there are six teams on bye in Week 10 for some reason). Let’s dig in!

The Waiver Wire: Week 7

Week 7 sees some heavy offensive firepower on a break as the Carolina Panthers, Cleveland Browns, Pittsburgh Steelers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers all get their byes this week. Poor quarterback play seemed to be a theme this week. Thankfully, there were few injuries to contend with and our waiver wire recommendations are largely free of injury-related suggested pickups. A quick note before we get to this week’s article. If your waiver wire has a number of backup running backs available make sure you put a bid in on them. Running backs (and quarterbacks) are only play away from a starting job, unlike wide receivers.

The Waiver Wire: Week Six

Injuries and a few big plays provide us with most of our waiver wire suggestions this week. Bye weeks are now in full swing as well with Buffalo, Indianapolis, Oakland, Chicago all on bye in Week 6. One of these players could be the next big thing or a valuable piece to your playoff run. Make sure you are checking your waiver wires every week and continuing to make moves to improve your rosters. Let’s get to it.

Dynasty Stat Takeaways through Four Weeks

Every couple of weeks, I’ll take a look at various stats to try to determine if any trends stand out. These trends could relate to specific players or situations. I’ll be looking at targets, snap shares, and air yards, among other metrics to help formulate opinions on players and how you as a dynasty player should be interpreting this data. Data is compiled via Pro Football Reference, Airyards.com, Football Outsiders, the Sleeper app, Fantasy Data and other any other place that stats may be housed. Even with four weeks of data the sample size is small and these takes are subject to change. You can find this first article in this series right here. I’ll update a few of the situations we looked at two weeks ago, and I’ve found a couple of new situations that have caught my attention.

The Waiver Wire: Week 5

Concussions seemed to be the injury du jour this week. Jarvis Landry and T.J. Hockenson were both unable to finish their games on Sunday after suffering one. After last week’s relatively quiet week on the quarterback injury front, Mitchell Trubisky was lost to a shoulder (left) injury and Josh Allen went down with a concussion. Besides the regular waiver wire recommendations, I’ll sprinkle in some dynasty advice this week, to spice things up a bit. Bye weeks also continue with two more teams off in week five, the Lions and Dolphins.

The Waiver Wire: Week Four

We’re moving into the fourth week of the season, and fantasy football is in full swing. That means it’s time to start digging deep into your league’s waiver wires. Bye weeks begin with San Francisco and the New York Jets taking the week off. We had no quarterback injuries this week, but Saquon Barkley did go down to an ankle injury. Outside of that, this week was mercifully injury-free for fantasy assets. That leaves less obvious options on the wire. Ownership on the below players varies depending on your league size and owner’s skill level.

Dynasty Stat Takeaways Through Two Weeks

Every couple of weeks I’ll take a look at various stats to try to determine if any trends stand out. These trends could relate to specific players or situations. I’ll be looking at targets, snap shares, and airyards among other metrics to help formulate opinions on players and how you as a dynasty player should be interpreting this data. This week I’m reviewing a couple of rookie running backs, Todd Gurley, a second-year wide receiver breakout and the Green Bay Packers WR2 competition.

The Waiver Wire: Week 3

Week two brought even more injuries and more players that stepped up, taking advantage of the opportunities those injuries provided. There were also a couple of players who came out of nowhere to have breakouts in week two that need to be on your radar. As always I dig through the game tape and game stats to find some hidden gems for your dynasty rosters.
