Superflex Dynasty Backup QBs: Tier 2

In this series, I’m looking at the backup quarterback landscape with a focus on dynasty superflex formats. In those leagues, having a starting quarterback is extremely valuable, so many backups are rostered, with the number depending on how deep the league is. Keep in mind that the backup listed here is the backup in dynasty value, not necessarily the backup on the NFL roster. In part one, I examined the top tier of dynasty backups, the potential future long-term starters. Let’s jump into the second tier. Unlike the first tier, this second group consists of a varied and diverse set of quarterbacks.

Week 16 Streamers

Welcome back to my streamers column. For each position, I will give two streamers that are under 40% owned. These ownership percentages come from ESPN at the time of writing, typically Sunday night or Monday morning. I’ll start with quarterback, followed by tight end, then D/ST. In both sections, the player listed first is my preferred stream, and the second option is a backup if the first player is not available. At this point, we are in the final week of the season, which changes the strategy even more.

Week 15 Streamers

Tannehill is a must-play in week 15. He put up another strong performance in Week 14 against the Raiders, scoring 27.5 points in four-point touchdown scoring. He went 21/27 passing for 391 yards and three passing touchdowns. The Texans just gave up 309 passing yards and three touchdowns to Drew Lock in Week 14, making them a prime matchup for Tannehill.

So, to keep you ahead of the pack, here are your Week 10 “In the Scope” candidates who have the potential to be the priority ads of the future.

AFC East Factory Divisional Nuggets: Week 8

Parker has caught 50 yards or a touchdown in each of the last four games. It’s no surprise his targets and production have increased since Ryan Fitzpatrick was named the starter. He’s received 8 targets and is the WR20 in the two games with Fitzpatrick as the starter. Parker has one of the highest average depths of target (aDot) (15.5) among receivers with over 30 targets. He has a higher aDot than Kenny Golladay and Mike Williams. He’s also tied for fifth in average targeted air yards (15.4) among pass catchers. Look for him on your waivers if available. Otherwise, stash him if you got him. It doesn’t appear he will be traded — one of the few pieces the Fins are willing to hang on to.
