Unstarted Business: Jerick McKinnon Finally Ready to Roll?

Kyle Shanahan has four running backs under contract that have played for him over the past two years. However, it’s the running back who hasn’t played football in two years that he’s most excited to see in 2020 – Jerick McKinnon. At this point, McKinnon has reached post-post hype sleeper; he’s forgotten about in most leagues and his value couldn’t be lower. He’s probably sitting on most dynasty waiver wires and for good reason. He’ll be 28 years old in May and hasn’t stepped on a football field in the last two seasons. So why care about him?

Not Your Average Joe

It has been a while since we’ve witnessed a fantasy running back as polarizing and talented as Joe Mixon. Last I can recall is Demarco Murray, maybe (feel free to offer suggestions, could be a fun discussion topic). Either way, the Joe Mixon takes are HOT. Some believe he can’t crack the top 10 again, and others project him as a candidate to finish the number one fantasy running back. Either one of those things can happen. I mean anything is possible, but what I want to analyze is the notion Mixon can’t be a top-five fantasy running back. This idea has been tossed around the twitter-verse and all over the fantasy community, but there is a strong case he will take the leap this year and elevate his play in 2019. The arrival of former LA Rams QB coach Zac Taylor and the West Coast offense is a major indicator Joe Mixon will be better utilized this year. Taylor played a major role in overseeing and constructing one of the most high powered offenses in the league last year. Sean McVay noted: “he was instrumental our in third-down game-planning.”  Placing more emphasis on passing the ball certainly didn’t hurt Todd Gurley’s fantasy production last season. Gurley was the number three fantasy running back with 1,831 total yards and a remarkable 21 touchdowns in 14 games. The Bengals new offensive philosophy will have a dual effect, improving Mixon’s rushing and passing production. A breakdown of each aspect reveals how Joe Mixon and Zac Taylor can take his game to the next level. …………………….

RB Theorem | the 400 Club | Eric Dickerson

The running backs that made this series belong to an exclusive club. There were entrusted by their coaches enough to surpass or to see 400 rushing attempts in a season. Fantasy Football Week 11: Early Waiver Wire Running Backs

It was an exciting week in football. The Tennessee Titans grabbed the New England Patriots by the face and firmly threw them into the dirt. The Seahawks, though they lost in a heartbreaker to the Rams, are still building momentum. The Jets proved that they stink worse than a two-year-old baby’s diaper. And the Steelers

Deepest of Deep Dives: Markeith Miller, RB, Mary Hardin-Baylor

Okay, so before I start I have a disclaimer. At no point am I saying this guy is going to be a future NFL Hall of Famer. I am just here to “spread awareness.” Markeith Miller is a senior that is plying his trade for Mary Hardin-Baylor in the NCAA Division III, American Southwest Conference.

ZeroRB: The Best Ability is Availability

The arguments centered around ZeroRB or any structural-based drafting go way too far in either direction. I tweeted about an idea for this article and was told that ZeroRB is “dumb,” “won’t get you far,” and is “throwing your season away.” But I think that in many of the arguments, even pro-ZeroRB, miss the point.

RB Theorem | Chapter III: Window Blinders

We have all heard statements about the running back window. Depending on who you speak to that window is two to three years, five years or under the age of 27. At least that seems to be the general consensus. Most people recognize that the RB window for effectiveness/production is two to three NFL seasons.
